Yippeeeeee - a new release by Simon Says Stamp always lifts my spirits and I hope it does yours too! Today is the release (January 15th) and there will be a two day blog hop on the 16th and 17th. I'm part of the day 1 blog hop on the 16th, so please come visit again. You can see the entire Love You, Too release here and the Love You release here. The blog hop will be celebrating both releases since we didn't have a blog hop in December. Today I have a slimline card to share with you using one of my favorite products from the release. It is a stamp set called Better Together. Here is an image of the stamp and die which are sold together as a bundle:
Here is my slimline card:
I started this card with a piece of 3.5" x 8.5" cardstock. I then stamped the Better Together stamp of 5 kids on the right side of the card front with MFT Natural Ink. I then stamped it again on the left side of the card by covering up some of the already stamped group and just stamping the first 3 kids again. There are now duplicates, but by coloring them differently, I hoped no one noticed!
I colored in the images with Copics this time, not my usual coloring tool for little people like this. I am really enjoying my Copics lately though and they are much faster to color with. It's just hard to stay in the lines sometimes when I'm doing no-line stamping which is pretty much the only way I like to stamp! I then used colored pencils to add some shading and outline some of the areas. This gave me the ability to cover any mistakes I had from the Copics. I also always use a white Uniball to cover mistakes where Copics seep where they aren't suppose to!
I embossed the large sentiment on the top of the card with Carnation Red embossing powder. I had to cut it apart to fit it the way I did horizontally. I stamped the two little sentiments with Intense Black Ink on the 2 signs held by the little girls. I drew some little hearts around the sentiment with a red colored pencil.
I also have a new watercolor card set in this release. It's called Pet Friends and has little girls with their pets. I was inspired to make this set based on my 5 year old grand-daughter. We color my cards together all the time, so I wanted to make a set that reminded me of her. Once I received them, I gave her an entire set to color herself and she painted all 6 in about an hour! It takes me about 2 hours to paint each one! haha I'll be sharing a few of them colored on the blog hop tomorrow.
I've listed some of my favorite new stamp sets in the supply list at the bottom of this post. You can see the entire new Love You, Too release here. Hope to see you back tomorrow for day 1 of the 2 day blog hop! xoxo Suzy

I love your card! There are so many people who could use a card with this sentiment especially right now!
