Today is the first day of a two day blog post kicking off the Simon Says Stamp Die-cember release. It came out yesterday and there is already tons of inspiration using the products in the Die-cember Gallery so check it out. And you are probably in the process of getting all kinds of inspired on this blog hop! Hopefully I will add to that!
I made 3 cards to share with you using many of the new dies. I ended up "accidentally" making all my cards today with Nuvo Shimmer Powder! I guess I can't stay about from that stuff! haha So let's get started!
CARD 1:
My first card uses the new Chunky Hearts Panel Wafer Die and the new Hugs Wafer Die. I die-cut the Chunky Hearts Panel die out of white cardstock and painted watercolor paper. I had painted the watercolor paper with Shimmer Powder in Cherry Bomb and Catherine Wheel so it has a nice shimmer to it. I adhered the white pastel to a fuchsia card base and glued all of the hearts from the watercolored one inside the openings.
I die-cut the new Hugs Wafer die from both white cardstock and some more of the watercolor paper painted with Shimmer powders. I adhered those to the card with foam tape behind them. I added a "love you" preprinted sentiment strips in the Mother's Day set (die-cut with the Sentiment Label Dies). I added some Sparkling Clear Sequins around the sentiment.
CARD 2:
This card uses two of the new dies - the Detailed Rose Wafer Die and the Hang In There Wafer Dies. I first embossed the Floral Field embossing folder with white cardstock. I die-cut that with the SSS A2 Frame die so it showed the card base around it. Next, I painted some more watercolor paper with Shimmer Powder. This time I used Cherry Bomb and Violet Brocade and then painted another piece with Falling Leaves Shimmer Powder. I die-cut the Detailed Rose wafer die leaves and flower from these as well as the background for the Hang in there die. I also cut all of them with white cardstock and layered the white over the colored pieces.
I attached the flower and leaves to the embossed card front. I then attached the "hang in there" with foam tape. I added some sparking clear sequins. Because that is what I do every single time!
CARD 3:
My last card uses the new Paper Hugs die and the Strips 2 Wafer Dies. I ALSO used the new gorgeous Detail Bohemian Plate Wafer Die which I cut from white cardstock for the card base. I then watercolored with some Shimmer Powders again in Atlantis Burst and Violet Brocade. I flicked some white paint on the purple piece. I then die-cut the new Paper Hugs Wafer Die from the Atlantis Burst Shimmer Powder painted paper. I then die-cut some of the new Stripes 2 dies from both the Violet Brocade paper and the Atlantis Burst paper.
I attached the Paper Hugs to the center of the card. I then weaved the strips pieces on all four sides to create a frame around the sentiment. I can imagine all kinds of possibilities using these two new strip die sets. They will also be good to use for stamping sentiments. I added a pre-printed Sentiment Label from the Thinking of You set to the front. I also added some Caribbean Blue jewels.
I shared one more card on a blog post yesterday using the new Snowflake Frame die. Here is an image of my card and you can see my blog post HERE with the details.

Hi, Suzy - First, let me say that all the cards you shared are beautiful works of art. I love the first and last ones the most, but that Paper Hugs one packs a visual punch ... love the purple and green together. That card made with the heart die is amazing!! The snowflake one is delicate and looks so cool (no pun intended... it just happened).
Thank you for sharing your considerable talents w/ all of us.
Blessings on you at the holidays and always-
