A couple of days ago, Simon Says Stamp took us out of the Christmas season for a brief moment when they released their Love You collection of products. After making SO many holiday cards, I've kind of enjoyed breaking out a bit. Today I used one of the new stamp sets called Butterfly Kisses and who doesn't love a beautiful butterfly kiss?!?!?! Here is a look at the stamp set which is also sold as a bundle with the dies:
I have a standard size A2 card I made with the stamp set and matching dies to share with you. Shocking I know. I seem to be stuck in a slim-line world (oh I wish I was slim-line hahaha).
I first die-cut a piece of Arches watercolor paper with the Pretty Pink Posh Notes and Things die. It is a rectangle with stitching on both the inside and the outside, so I also die-cut a black cardstock frame using the same die (if you look close you can see the stitching on the black part as well). I then embossed the heart in the center of my watercolor paper. I also embossed the other butterfly stamps all with white embossing powder.
I painted in the images on the heart with my Karin Brushmarkers. I used a yellow marker to add a yellow color wash using lots of water around the heart. I also painted in the extra butterflies and die-cut them out.
I printed the sentiment from the stamp set with Intense Black Ink on a SSS Sentiment Label Die. I tucked that under the largest butterfly and used foam tape behind the butterfly. I attached the red butterfly and heart to the top of the card. I added some Sparkling Clear Sequins.
I feel like this is my shortest blog post in the history of my blog posts! Well, I hope you enjoyed this little foray into the new year using the new Butterfly Kisses stamp set from the Love You collection. I think we all are probably wanting the new year to be here already! Take care and stay well my friends. What a tough year it has been! xoxo suzy
