Hello friends! I'm posting right as I'm watching the Presidential results. I thought it might be therapeutic (or at least it might distract me). I love mixing my older SSS holiday stamp sets with the newest SSS stamp sets. For this card, I used Ornate Ornaments stamp set from I think 2 years ago. Does anyone have this one? Here is an image:
I mixed a new set with it for the sentiment called Holiday Sparkle from the Make Merry release. I also used the SSS Thin Frame Circle dies on the card. Here it is!
I started by painting a piece of Canson mixed media paper with Atlantis Burst Shimmer Powder (I do this in bulk ahead of time, so I just pulled this out and used it). I used the largest circle from the SSS Thin Circle Dies die-cut from the lower front of the aqua piece. I then die-cut the same die from white cardstock for the frame and from Lawn Fawn Pixie Dust paper for the inside circle. I attached all of these pieces together for the card front.
I I stamped the ornaments from the Ornate Ornament stamp set with MFT Natural Ink and I colored them in with colored pencils. I don't know why I colored them with so much detail as I ended up using Nuvo Glitter Drops over the entire things. I used Fairy Wings Dream Drops over the bottom one. I used a Gold Uniball pen for the holders on the tops. I attached them with twine to "hang" them and foam tape behind them.
I embossed the sentiment using the new Holiday Sparkle stamp set and matching dies. I used Ranger Teal Tinsel embossing powder. Some rubbed off accidentally, so I used a Kaiser Craft glitter pen to redraw some of the letters. I hate it when I don't heat it enough! I used a Caribbean Sea Jewel by PPP in the center of the tall ornament. I used Aquatic Mist glitter drops around the sentiment.
Is that sparkly enough to cheer anyone down about the election? I don't think it is working for me. Have a great week my card making friends. And happy soon to be holidays!!! Suzy
