My favorite blog posts are my new "one stamp, three coloring methods" series. I love using one stamp and coloring it with my three favorite coloring tools - colored pencils, Copics, and Karin Brushmarkers. Today I choose the Modern Poinsettia cling stamp by SSS from their Make Merry release. Here is an image of the stamp:
This image shows my 3 different colored images:
And here are the individual colored images with the card I made with each.
I stamped the cling stamp with MFT Natural Ink and stamped it on white cardstock. I colored it in with colored pencils. I then die-cut the piece with the largest A2 Frame Die and attached it to a red card base. I used the CZ Good Cheer stamp and die set for the sentiment (on all 3 of these cards) embossed with Hot Pink embossing powder by Ranger. I attached that to the bottom of the card and used Cloud 9 Nuvo Dream drops in the center of each flower. I added some sparkling clear sequins around the sentiment.
2. COPICS
I stamped the cling stamp with SSS Intense Black Ink and colored it in with Copic Markers. You might notice I left the inside of each flower open. I couldn't decide what color to make them, so I decided to just fill them in at the end. This time I used the largest size sparkling clear sequins. I embossed a sentiment from the same CZ Good Cheer stamp and die set with Red Geranium embossing powder. I attached it with foam tape and the used the sub-greeting from the stamp stamp set on black cardstock with white embossing powder. I attached that below the sentiment. I added some black glossy nuvo drops (not sure I like these on here, but oh well!).
I stamped the image on Arches watercolor paper with white embossing powder. I then painted it with Karin Brushmarkers. I prefer to use these markers with embossed designs so they don't seep outside of the lines! I love how this one looks - it is definitely my favorite! I embossed a sentiment from the same CZ Good Cheer stamps and dies with Hot Pink embossing powder again. Stamp sets like this one are so good to have as they have enough sentiments for ALL of your holiday cards probably for the rest of your life haha! I added some Rhubarb Crumble nuvo drops to the center of the flowers and some sparkling clear sequins around the sentiment.
And last, here are the 3 finished cards together:
Whew, that was a lot of photos! I hope someone out there enjoys seeing the same stamp colored with different mediums. I also stamped the Modern Poinsettia cling stamp with 3 different ink types to change the look of each. I'll be back once a week with more posts under this new series. Thank you so much for visiting! xoxo suzy
