I have another "one stamp, five ways" post to share with you (that's 2 in one week - a record!) using the brand new special edition card kit by Simon Says Stamp called We Believe. I'm not sure what YOU believe, but I believe this one is a beauty! It is right up my alley style wise! Here is an image:
As usual, I try to focus on the stamp set in these posts, which is a darling 6" x 8" stamp also called We Believe with a matching set of We Believe Dies. I have 4 cards to share with you completely focusing on the stamp, but one of my 5 cards doesn't use it at all - eeekkkkk. I just couldn't resist making a card with some of the other amazing things in the kit, so excuse my slight deviation from my series title! haha Here we go!
CARD 1:
My first card is my "random stamping" card I always share. I arranged the darling stamp images from the We Believe stamp set on a piece of cardstock and stamped them with MFT Natural Ink. I colored them all in with colored pencils. They were so fun to color! This type of card and coloring medium mixed together always take me the longest to make, but I so love to color that I do it for every 5 card post!
I used the Lawn Fawn Just Stitching rectangle die around the edges for added interest. I stamped the sentiment on a Honey Bee Sentiment Banner die with white embossing powder. I used a white SSS Sentiment Label die underneath it so it stood out more. I tied some twine along the bottom and added some Caribbean Ocean Nuvo Drops.
CARD 2:
My second card is a slim-line one layer card. I stamped all of the images directly on a piece of white cardstock with MFT Natural Ink again. This time I colored all of them in with Copics including the moon and sky. I wasn't too happy with my blending around the moon, but practice makes perfect! I copied the colors in the house paper in the kit for the houses and the shadows behind them. I also used silver and gold uniball pens over some of the colored elements.
I absolutely LOVE the sentiment in the stamp set that says Peace.Joy.Love., so I used that over the moon with SSS Mermaid Embossing Powder. I added some snow with white acrylic paint using the end of a paintbrush dipped in the paint. I prefer to do it this way so I can place the snow drops right where I want them!
CARD 3:
I decided to make another card using the stamp with the row of houses and the santa/reindeer stamps. I wanted to show them used on both a slim-line design and a standard card size design. For the slim-line, I stamped the houses twice and on this one, I only used them once. I stamped the images on white cardstock with SSS Intense black ink. I colored them in with Copic markers and cut them out (would have loved to have the dies!). I used a piece of the Doodlebug patterned paper in the kit for the background. I attached the stamped images over it. I also added a frame from the Hello Bluebird Gallery Frame 2 die.
I die-cut two of the smaller snow-flake dies from the kit out of Lawn Fawn Pixie Dust paper. I layered them on the top of the card. I also added two snowflake sequins and used white jewels in the center of all 3 of the snowflakes. I used Nuvo drops over the scene starting with red gloss drops for the front reindeers nose. I just realized that I smeared it - how did I miss that! I also used some glitter ones over areas of the houses and silver ones on the reindeer bells. I embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder.
CARD 4:
This is the card that doesn't use any of the stamps in the kit. Sorry about that! I did use both of the inks and the stencil for the background though! I was so excited as I finally bought some Pixie Spray and it works so well to hold the stencil in place - wow what a difference that made! I attached the stencil to a piece of cardstock that was die-cut to be one size smaller than a card front with the A2 Thin Frame Dies. I rubbed the two inks in the kit - Jelly Bean and Audrey Blue over the stencil with the 2 brushes in the kit. I mixed them in some places. I then rubbed Moonstone Glimmer Paste over the entire piece which softened the ink colors and gave it dimension and lots of glittery shine! It looks so very pretty in real life! I was excited to see how well my SSS inks work for this as I usually use Distress inks for all my inking on stencils.
I painted a piece of watercolor paper with some blues and greens (ok, I had a scrap piece in my stash! haha) and then die-cut both of the snowflake dies in the kit from that. I also die-cut one of the smaller ones from the Lawn Fawn Pixie Dust paper. I layered the three on the top of the card. I added some Ranger Stickles in Stardust. I stamped the word JOY using the SSS Holiday Sparkle stamp set and Leaf Green embossing powder. I die-cut that and attached it to the bottom of the card. I used a Sea Glass Jewel in the center of the snowflakes.
CARD 5:
I used the SSS Nested Oval Dies to die-cut an oval out of the center of a piece of white cardstock. I then used the new Lumen Embossing Folder over that piece - isn't it so pretty? I added a piece of the patterned paper in the kit into the opening. I stamped all of the images on white cardstock with black ink and colored them in with colored pencils. I cut them all out and attached them over the card front to form a scene.
I embossed the sentiment with Carnation Red embossing powder on a Sentiment Label die-cut from pink cardstock. I attached that to the top of the card. I added some of the Doodlebug stickers in the kit around the front of the card. I also added some gingerbread men stickers under the chocolate chip cookies. Last, I tied some twine around the top of the card.
How many of you agree this is truly a "special" kit - can we say we ALL believe it is amazing?!?!?!? If you are interested in the We Believe special edition card kit, act quickly as these kits are only while supplies last with limited quantities. I hope you enjoyed this "one stamp, five ways" post and that you had a great weekend friends! Thanks so much for visiting my blog!!! xoxo suzy
