Today's post is about using the old with the new. This is something I always try to do when creating. I love pulling out a new stamp set, but finding some of my older products to use with it. Today, I'm going the opposite route. I have a "one stamp, five ways" post to share with you using a stamp set from 1 or maybe even 2 years ago called Meowy Catmus. There are also dies for this stamp set, but they are not sold as a bundle. Here is an image:
At the time it was released, I loved it so much that I planned on doing a post with it and I colored a bunch of images. But then I never got cards made and never used the images. So with all these new wonderful holiday products in the new Make Merry release, I decided to pull out my colored images of these cute kitties to use with some of the new products. And guess what? After I made this decision, I realized that there is a BRAND NEW kitty Christmas stamp set that goes perfectly with this older one! It is called Feline Like Christmas Spinner and it is a 6" x 8" stamp set. Here is an image:
And with that LONG lead up, here are my 5 cards! You'll see I've pulled in a lot of other brand new products from the Make Merry release as well.
CARD 1:
My first card is a slim-line card that uses equal parts Meowy Christmas with Feline Like Christmas Spinner stamp sets. I started by creating a background for the stamped images with Spun Sugar and Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide Inks rubbed on white cardstock. I covered that with a frame from the new Slim-line Scallop Frame Dies.
I stamped all of the images on this card from the two stamp sets and colored them in with colored pencils. I colored the words with Copic markers. I die-cut all of the images and attached them to the card forming a little holiday scene around the tree with the greeting along the top.
I added some Nuvo Drops to several areas of the card to give it some texture and glitter! I finished with a few Sparkling Clear Sequins. I used one of the new Avocado Slimline Envelopes behind the card.
CARD 2:
For this card, I stamped two of the little kitties in the stockings from the Meowy Catmus stamp set and die-cut them out. I colored them with colored pencils. For the stocking, I colored it light green and then used a darker green pencil to create the pattern on it. I die-cut an MFT fireplace die I had in my stash, but doesn't seem to be available anymore. I used Nuvo Glitter drops on the fire. I attached all of those pieces to a piece of red patterned paper on a white card (die-cut with the largest SSS A2 frame die).
I stamped and die-cut the word "jingle" from the new CZ Good Cheer stamp set. I colored it in with the same technique using green colored pencils. I stamped the little words from the same stamp set with black ink on a SSS Sentiment Label die. I finished the card with a few Sparkling Clear Sequins and glossy white Nuvo drops.
CARD 3:
This is my "random stamped" background card. I stamped all of the Meowy Catmus cat images with MFT Natural Ink on white cardstock going every direction so they fit like puzzle pieces. I then colored them in with colored pencils. I die-cut that piece with a SSS A2 frame die and attached to a turquoise card base.
I stamped the word Christmas from the new Feline Like Christmas stamp set and colored it in with blue copies. I used Blue Lagoon Nuvo Glitter Drops over the letters. I attached that to the bottom of the card and added a sub-title from the same stamp set above it. I used some red and white and the blue glitter Nuvo drops around the sentiment.
CARD 4:
This is my favorite card as I love this new stamp set so much! It is a cling stamp and called Gift Boxes. I stamped it with black ink and colored it in with copic markers. I then stamped the kitty that is laying down from the Meowy Catmus stamp set and colored him in with colored pencils. I die-cut him (her?!?!?) out and attached her over one of the present bows.
I stamped a sentiment from the Meowy Catmus stamp set on a white Sentiment Label using Wow Misty Sky embossing powder. I attached that below the cat. I used some glossy white Nuvo drops and some sparkling clear sequins around the sentiment. I seriously love how this cat looks laying on that present so it is subtle.
CARD 5:
This was my last card and my least favorite card. I feel like it needed something. I used a piece of patterned paper from the Vicky Boutin Let's Wander paper pad that was in a recent card kit. It matched the kitty on the top right, so I thought it was perfect after I went through about 100 different choices and spent more time on this decision than the time it took to make the card! I die-cut the paper with an A2 frame die and then attached it to a white card base with foam tape behind it.
I stamped the four kitties on white cardstock with black ink and colored them in with colored pencils. I die-cut the new Warm Hugs die from white cardstock and colored the letters in with Copics. I attached that to the middle of the card and attached the four kitties around it. I added some glossy white Nuvo drops and sparkling clear sequins. Because that is what I do. To every card I make.
I hope you enjoyed this different take on my "one stamp, five ways" post today. Just as a reminder, I used Meowy Catmus stamp set for this post, but I also used a lot of the brand new Feline Like Christmas Spinner stamp set. I just LOVE the new Make Merry release and enjoyed incorporating some of those products into this post. I hope you enjoyed this blog post and that you are having a great weekend! Thanks so much for stopping by! Suzy
Very cute, Suzy. My favorite is with the gift boxes, of course. S/he snuck into that stack of presents, lol💖. Thanks for sharing!

Coincidentally I used the Meowy Catmas stamp set last week as well. Great minds think alike! (Just joking 😉)
I love Card 4 the most as well. That one is absolutely stunning!!
Thank you for using older sets too. I think it's very useful when not only new items are used for projects, but older ones as well. Especially combined.
