I've been posting like crazy about the SSS new release called Make Merry. If you haven't seen it yet, check it out HERE. It is full of Fall products as well as many holiday products. I posted my newest set of watercolor cards all colored for the 2 day blog hop, a "one stamp, five ways" post using many of the new products, and a post using the Santa's Sleigh Ride Slider stamp. Tonight's post is a card using the Gift Boxes cling stamp and the new Tricolor Sentiment Strips. Here is an image of it:
My card is really shimmery, so get ready. I had a great time dressing this stamp up for this card. I also have a card I made for one of my other posts using the same stamp in a really simple way, so I"ll show you that at the end.
I started with a card size piece of Arches cold press watercolor paper. I embossed the design with SSS Antique Gold Embossing powder. I then painted it with Karin Brush Markers keeping the colors light (lots of water and just touched the wet brush to the tip of the markers to transfer color). I then painted the bows with different colors of paint from this set: Gansai Tambi Starry Colors. This set has different colors of gold paint and it also has a white that I used to add a sheen over all of the watercolors on the gift boxes (this is a must have for holiday cards!). You can see the effect better in the next photo.
I die-cut this piece with the SSS A2 largest frame die and attached it to a cream card base. I then die-cut the Happy Holidays from the SSS Holiday Sentiment Strips using the Sentiment Strip die cuts. These pre-printed greetings make it so easy for us! I decided I wanted more glitz on the ribbons, so I added Nuvo Glitter Drops over the paint on each one. I used silver and some different golds and the clear one with glitter in it called White Blizzard. I attached the sentiment and some sparkling clear sequins to finish it.
This next card is part of my "one stamp, five ways" post using the Meowy Catmus stamp set from a couple years ago. This time I stamped the Gift Boxes cling stamp with black ink and colored it in with Copic markers. Much more simple technique, but I still love how it turned out. I have lots more ideas for this stamp set as well!
That's it for today! I'm going to be posting a bunch next week with more of the new products, so click the email button on the top left if you want to be notified when I post. Thank you for visiting today! xoxo suzy
Beautiful card! Love the mix of watercolor and glittery accents!
