Today I have a card to share with you that I absolutely LOVE! I had no idea how cool this stamp was until I used it and now I want to use it over and over! It is part of the Make Merry release from Simon Says Stamp called Center Cut Snowflake Cling Stamp and here is an image:
Here is my card - it looks like it took a long time, but it really didn't. All the instructions are below and I promise I will start making videos soon. I just have to learn how - yikes! A bit intimidated right now!
That is a lot of photos! I wanted you to be able to see the dimension and sparkle. Sometimes it's hard to capture in a photo. Here are the directions:
- I die-cut a piece of white cardstock with the SSS A2 Frame Die.
- I embossed the Center Cut Snowflake Cling stamp without the center piece with WOW Cloud 9 embossing powder - it's a silver glittery powder that looked just perfect (before I covered it up with Stickles).
- I applied Diamond Ranger Stickles over each of the snowflakes and let it dry (they take a while to dry).
- I used 5 colors of Copic Markers to color the "sky" around the snowflakes with the lightest color on the inside and getting darker as they moved outward. Here are the colors: B91, B93, B95, B97, and B99 (I use these for all of my night skies).
- I added some white paint drops by covering up the circle; I flicked the paint on and also used a pencil tip dipped in the paint to add dots where I wanted them (any white paint can work and I linked a couple I like in the product list).
- I also added some dark blue dots with Nuvo Shimmer Powder in Meteorite Shower (this is a paint I always use for night skies - such a cool color); I used a tool I have that has a tip like a pencil tip dipped in the powder mixed with very little water and then dotted it on the card where I wanted the spots).
- I added a second coat of the Diamond Ranger Stickles over all of the snowflakes as I wanted them to be as dimensional and sparkly as possible!
- Last, I added some MORE dots with Nuvo white glossy drops and Night Sky glitter drops (another must have for night skies).
- I die-cut a white cardstock circle - you can use the SSS Stitched Circle dies which has one that is the perfect size or the SSS Framed circle dies if you don't want the stitching; I embossed the sentiment using SSS Steel Navy embossing powder to stamp the middle circle stamp and attached it to the center with foam tape under it.
- I attached the entire thing to a white card base with foam tape under it as well.
- I added some PPP sparkling clear sequins around the sentiment circle.
And there you go! The reason I put so much detail on how I created this night sky is because I see cards with skies like this on IG all of the time and always wonder how they did it. I came up with these supplies to make one, but I would love to know how others do it as well. Thank you for visiting today and I hope you enjoyed this card using the SSS Center Cut Snowflake cling stamp. Happy stamping my friends! xoxo suzy
