Hello all! What a crazy day today was in the political world. Every day is crazy lately, but the fact that our President has Covid 19, well, that beat all the craziness of the past few months. Anyway, on to business. SSS had a cute little gnome stamp set released as part of the Let's Connect release called Gnome School. I had never gotten a chance to use this set, so I decided to make a card with it today. Here is an image of the stamp set and the die which are sold as a bundle:
I didn't have the dies for this set, so you will see that I did a lot of fussy cutting (which doesn't bother me at all, in fact I enjoy it). I also used some mushrooms from another Gnome set called Chillin Gnomes.
I cut a piece of cardstock into a 3.5" x 8.5" strip for the front of the card and then a 7" x 8.5" for the card base (which leaves a little strip I throw away). I applied Distress Oxide Ink to the card using Evergreen Bough on the top of the card and Antique Linen and Frayed Burlap to the bottom of the card. I used my Picket Fence brushes to apply the ink so it stayed light.
I stamped the images from the Gnome School stamp set and the flowers and mushrooms from the Chillin' Gnome stamp set on white cardstock with black ink. I used Copic markers to color them all in. I've been enjoying my Copics lately and trying to ignore my colored pencils for a while. I like to change it up every now and then!
I used Nuvo drops all over the scene. I used Morning Dew over the glasses and windows on the house. I used Red Berry Gloss on the small mushroom spots and the center of some of the flowers. I used Dandelion Yellow Gloss in the center of the other flowers. I used Bottle Green Metallic on the spots on the big mushrooms. I used Metallic Silver Lining on the door knobs. And last, I used Aqua Plains Jewel Drops around the sky. I know how to use a lot of Nuvo Drops because I like to get my money's worth out of those little bottles!
I hope you enjoyed this little Gnome land scene using the Gnome School and Chillin' Gnomes stamp sets. I will be back tomorrow with a new blog feature I'm starting showing one cling stamp colored with 3 different coloring mediums all made into cards. Have a great weekend friends and thanks so much for visiting! Suzy
