Do you ever use your older holiday stamp sets? I often find myself only using the stamps that I have gotten this year and I hate that. I have so many cute sets from years past that I also want to use. But there is only so much time to make cards! So I am trying to mix some of my older products with some of my newer products. The card I have to share with you tonight uses a total of 3 stamp sets and 4 dies some new and some old. Maybe you will have some of these favorites in your stash as well!
I made this slimline card with lots of different products as I stated above. Here is a list:
- Gnome for the Holidays stamp set (from the December card kit last year) MY FAVORITE STAMP SET EVER!
- CZ Ornamental
- A Cling Stamp with Trees - no idea when it came out or why I don't see it in the store anymore!
- Slimline Christmas Die
- Slimline Marquee Die
- Slimline Scallop Frame Die
- Circle Frame Dies
I started with a slimline card piece of white cardstock (3.5" x 8.5"). I die-cut a frame using the Slimline Scallop Frame Die and the Holographic Silver Cardstock. I also cut a frame using the Slimline Marquee Die and mixed media paper. I painted it with red shimmer powder and attached that to the inside of the frame and both to the card base.
I die-cut the Slimline Christmas Die from both red watercolored paper (same one I used for the frame die) and from green watercolored paper (I used Shimmer powder for this). I cut the frame from white cardstock and attached the red and green letters. I embossed the word "Merry" from the CZ Ornamental stamp and die-cut it to fit above the word Christmas. I stamped the little gifts from the Gnome for the Holidays stamp set with MFT Natural Ink and colored them in with colored pencils. I attached those to the left side of "merry".
I stamped the tree cling stamp set on white cardstock with black ink and then die-cut a circle from it using the SSS Circle Frame dies. I die-cut the frame from white cardstock as well and covered it with Stickles and let dry. I colored in the trees with colored pencils. I cut the bottom off both circles and lined it up with the bottom of the Marquee die. I stamped the gnome from Gnome for the Holidays and colored him in with colored pencils. I added some red Nuvo drops to his hat and nose. I attached him to the far right side of the card. I added 3 sparkling clear sequins and called it done!
I hope you enjoyed this very detailed holiday card. Did I overdo it? haha I have a habit of not knowing when to stop and the term "less is more" is not my mantra! I think the key is I had fun making it and that is what matters to me. AND, I was able to use 3 of my older stamp sets - yippee! Thanks for visiting! Suzy
