Living My Dream: STAMPtember Blog Party for Simon Says Stamp!

Today is the celebration of the Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember event - a huge blog party that I'm so excited to be a part of. You are probably getting so much inspiration as you go through all of these participants today! Have you placed an order yet? You can see the entire release HERE. I ended up ordering quite a few products and two of them were already out of stock - it happened so quickly! I blogged yesterday HERE with a card using some of the new products. Here it is in case you didn't see it:

I have a new set of watercolor cards in this release called Even More Birthday Watercolor cards. They contain 6 more birthday drawings with 3 of each printed for a total of 18 cards. Going forward, this is how the watercolor card packs are going to be sold and they are the same price, so it's a better deal!. This way you have multiple prints for coloring which a lot of people said they would like. Here is an image of this set:

And now I am going to show you how they look colored! First an image of them all together:

Here are the six cards by themselves with details about each one below it.

For the background of this card, I used Nuvo Shimmer Powders (my favorite paint in the world!) in Lilac Waterfall and Violet Brocade. I used just a light wash of blue paint on the bottom. I painted the cakes with my Karin Watercolor pens. I used colored pencils and Kaiser Craft gel pens for the candles and details. I used white Nuvo drops for the frosting and then covered it with glitter. I used glitter Nuvo drops for many of the other details. I embossed a sentiment from the CZ Birthday Sweets stamp set (it's perfect for this card - so many choices!).

I used my Karin Brushmarkers for this one as well. I used a soft yellow wash around the confetti areas. I colored all of the confetti and stars with my glitter gel pens. I used glitter nuvo drops over them. I used white nuvo drops for the frosting. I used chocolate fondue glitter drops over the chocolate cake. I used Tonic Crystal Glaze over the balloons.

For the sky area I used Shimmer Powder in Blue Blitz - it's my favorite color for skies. I covered up the dogs and splattered some over the sky for splotches also. I painted the dogs with watercolors, but then ended up coloring over it with colored pencils (I got carried away with the shading!). I used the same CZ Birthday Sweets stamp set for the greeting. I loved how it went so well with the dog theme!

I used yellow watercolor for the background and then I used my Karin markers for the other areas. Of course I had to do shading with colored pencils as I can't stop myself. I used Nuvo drops all over this again including over the letters. I use white glossy nuvo drops for white areas like on the balloons.

I love the colors in this one. I used my Karin Brushmarkers again for the flowers, but I don't usually use them for backgrounds. I typically use my regular watercolors or Shimmer Powders for backgrounds. I used a white Uniball for details and white glossy Nuvo drops around the sentiment. The sentiment is made with the SSS Mom Sentiment Strips Reverse die-cut with the Sentiment Label dies.

I used my Karin Brushmarkers for the little circles and then did a wash of different colors around them. I used Tonic Crystal Glaze over the center circle, so it is really glossy!
