Instead of a collaboration stamp set today, SSS is releasing a special edition Halloween kit called Happy Haunting. It is chock full of all kinds of cool supplies! Here is a photo of the kit:
I have three cards to share with you focusing on the 6x8" stamp set also called Happy Haunting which is sold alone. The kit arrived today at 11:00 am (it was overnighted last minute waiting for some supplies to arrive). I wanted to do a "one stamp, five ways" post, but I only got 3 cards made. But oh the mess I made! In my attempt to try and clean up, I spilled my white paint all over the carpet and other items. It wasn't a fun way to end a crazy day. But at least I made 3 cards before I decorated my bedroom carpet! haha
CARD 1:
For this card, I stamped the two little ghosts over and over on a piece of card size Ranger watercolor paper with SSS black intense ink. I stamped the moon in the center. I die-cut this piece with the largest frame in the SSS A2 frame die set. I painted the piece around the ghosts with Meteorite Showers Nuvo shimmer powder - LOVE this stuff! It looks like a dark blue night sky with touches of purple and pink in it and it shimmers. I used a gray watercolor marker to add shadows inside the ghosts. I watercolored the yellow moon.
I attached this piece to a white card base. I flicked some white paint on it and used some Glossy White Nuvo Drops and Night Sky glitter nuvo drops to the background. I used Limoncello Jewel drops over the moon. I embossed the sentiment from the stamp set with SSS Steel Navy embossing powder and cut it out, mounting it on the bottom of the card with foam tape. I added a few sparkling clear sequins.
CARD 2:
This card is kind of crazy! I have these Neon Prismacolor colored pencils and I hate them and never use them. Until today when I saw this bus. I knew it was a risk, but I went with it. In person they are SO Neon!!! I stamped the bus image with MFT Natural Ink and colored it in with colored pencils. I fussy cut it out leaving some space on the bottom for a ground. I colored in the ground area with gray Copic markers.
I attached it to a piece of the patterned paper in the kit and die-cut that piece with the largest frame from the SSS A2 frame dies. I attached that to a white card base. Notice that I colored inside the windows and the spider web with somewhat matching colored pencils to match the background (not perfect, but oh well I tried!). I embossed the sentiment on the bottom with white embossing powder. I added some of the gray and ghost and bat sequins from the kit around the scene.
CARD 3:
My last card is a slim-line card as I can't resist making them lately. I stamped all of the images directly on a card size piece of white cardstock with MFT Natural Ink so it is a one layer card (so perfect for when you don't have dies for a stamp set!). I colored all of the images in with colored pencils.
I colored the background with Copic markers. I embossed the sentiment from the stamp set with SSS Steel Navy embossing powder. I used the stencil in the kit for the stars with Texture Paste (and let it dry on the stencil because I was too busy to wash it - hope it comes off yikes!).
I added some Glossy white nuvo drops and called it done!
I didn't even touch most of the items in this kit - there were so many choices and because I had limited time, I just went with what I knew - coloring in stamped images! I hope you like my cards and if you are interested in the kit, it is here and called Happy Haunting. The limited edition ones usually sell out fast. Thanks so much for visiting my blog all month for STAMPtember. xoxo suzy
Your cards are amazing! Thanks for sharing.
Good luck with the white paint on the carpet. One time I was squeezing a glue bottle and it exploded. A few years later I was painting the room and saw where the glue had gone to the ceiling. I laughed but it wasn’t easy to remove.
