Today's collaboration stamp set for STAMPtember is between SSS and Whimsy Stamps. I love that this month is introducing me to a lot of stamp companies I wasn't familiar with. I'm a dog lover, so this one spoke to my heart! It is called Happy Pugmus stamp set and is also sold with a die Happy Pugmus stamp and die set. Here is an image of the set:
I wanted to include ALL of the pugs on one card, so I decided to make a slim-line card. I will admit to you right now it is a little crazy. The pug images are already a bit wacky, but then I used really bright colors and made it even MORE over the top. But I love it. And hopefully you will too haha!
I used my favorite Christmas color theme - bright pink, bright green, and turquoise. I started by stamping all of the images on white cardstock with MFT Natural Ink (of course). BUT THIS TIME I USED MY COPICS!!! I wanted to break out and see if I still knew how to use them to color images. And I loved it! I want to use them more now! I even resisted the urge to add more depth with pencils over them. These are PURE Copics ha! I fussy cut them all out, so I definitely recommend the dies too!
Next, I colored the background with Copics as well. I just drew a basic hill shape and used light aquas on the top and warm grays on the bottom. I definitely think the background is too green though - I should have gone with my light blues instead of aquas. I used Ranger Hot Pink embossing powder for the sentiment (I cut the word happy off the top so it would fit).
I die-cut a frame with a HB die also in turquoise cardstock. Well, actually I tried it in several different colors and ended up with this color. I used lots of glitter Nuvo drops to dress up the packages. I used Jewel drops on the ornaments (colors are all in the supply list below). I used some Glossy drops around the scene. Apparently I have a lot of Nuvo drops!
I looked at the card this am and thought it was WAY TOOOOOO MUCH! I decided the blue frame pushed it over the top. So I changed the frame to tan. Now it looks like this. Which do you prefer??? My photos weren't good with this frame, so I showed you the directions with the other one, but this is the end result!
What do you think about this crazy pugs? Are pugs really this wacky?!?!?! I have two dogs, but I've never owned a pug. I do really like these stamps though - very cute. The set is called Happy Pugmus stamps and Happy Pugmus stamps and dies. Have a great week friends! xoxo suzy
I love it with the turquoise frame. They both look great, Suzy. Your colors are always strikingly gorgeous. In a home filled with guys, I love the girly colors. Pugs can be rambunctious. We have a pug puppy next door. He sees me outside and immediately takes off running for me, lol! I don’t even have to bribe with treats. 😉
