Today's stamp set is a collaboration between SSS and Pinkfresh Studio. They always have gorgeous florals, so I knew I would love this one! The stamp set is called Celebrate Our Differences and it is also sold with dies Celebrate Our Differences with dies. Here is an image:
I was so disappointed when this stamp came in the mail as it was all flat stamps with nothing to color! I don't use those type of stamps ever as my favorite part of making cards is the coloring. But once I pulled out my colored inks (which never get used) and started creating, I loved the process and especially LOVED the result! I'm now a fan of flat stamps and ink!
I wasn't sure how to use these stamps, so I turned the package over and decided to do a practice run. I picked the exact same colors as they used in their example and I stamped the images in the exact same way they had done them. I started with the flat flowers and I stamped them in SSS Cotton Candy ink. Next, I stamped the top portion of the flowers with Hollyhock ink. They weren't very hard to line up, but I definitely needed the pictures to figure out the how! Next, I stamped the flat part of the leaves with Spring Rain ink. Then I stamped the details on the leaves with Teal ink. Again, they weren't hard to line up at all - I was quickly becoming a fan!
After I had finished this "practice" run, I decided I really liked it and so I used it for my actual card! Just know this exactly matches the pattern and colors on the package!!! I did stamp a few more leaves in the two corners that were lacking by just inking up a portion of the stamps - so it wasn't a complete copy haha. Although I really liked it, but felt like it was a little flat. I stamped the sentiment with Ranger Hot Pink embossing powder. So then I embossed the details on the flowers with the same embossing powder and it made the images pop. You can see where I didn't line them up perfectly on some of the flowers. I added some of my Nuvo Dream Drops around the flowers as I am OCD and need every little area filled in perfectly! I also thought they added to the classy look of this card. I added a frame from one of my Hello Bluebird scene dies and Guava cardstock.
Don't you agree this card is really pretty?!?!?! Not bragging here as it is a copy of the packaging and I feel like I didn't really do anything special. Which brings me to my favorite part of this stamp set. I made this card in about 30 mins. Most of my cards take me hours! And that my friends is why I am now a fan of flat stamps!!! You can find it at Simon Says Stamp Celebrate Our Differences. Thanks for visiting!!! Suzy
