Today is the Simon Says Stamp October card kit release called Happy Fall Y'all! Here is an image:
There are two stamp sets in the kit. The first is a 6" x 8" set also called Happy Fall Y'all and it is sold alone. The second is a small 3" x 4" stamp set which I used in my last card. I have three cards to share with you using the kit (not my usual "one stamp, five ways" post as I ran out of time to get 5 made - sorry!).
CARD 1:
My first card is a slimline card using most of the images from the Happy Fall Y'all 6"x8" stamp set. I love the whimsical images in this set, so I wanted them to be the star of this card. This is a one layer card, so I first just stamped all of the images with MFT Natural Ink. I then colored them in with Copic markers. Yes, you heard me right - Copics! I need to break out of my colored pencil love affair at times and my Copic collection cost me way too much money to let get dusty, so I pull it out every now and then. My skills aren't as good though!
I stamped the sentiment banner with Ranger Hot Pink embossing powder (love love this color) and fussy cut it out, but there are dies for this set. I attached it to the top center of the card.
I added some white gel pen details and some Nuvo drops around the scene to complete it. I cut my card front down a little and mounted it on a Lawn Fawn Guava cardstock rectangle die-cut with the Pink Fresh Diagonal Lines slim-line card die (love this die and really love this color of cardstock which is why I mention it!).
CARD 2:
I stamped the images from the Happy Fall Y'all stamp set again on white cardstock with MFT Natural Ink. This time I reverted to my beloved colored pencils to color the images in. I then did something I've never done before and I'm so very proud of - I created an oval card! Cool, huh? I went back and forth on whether or not I should do it and finally just went for it. I think I like it. I used the new Nested Oval wafer dies by SSS from the STAMPtember release. There is one that is the exact size of a standard card, so it fits in the envelopes perfectly. I die-cut the patterned papers form the kit (aren't they SO cute?!?!?) with the oval die. Then I attached them to a cream card base. I then trimmed the card front around the oval leaving the left center attached.
I tied some twine over the card where it attached on the left side. I will trim these long strands before using this card of course, but i thought it looked pretty for the photo this way. I embossed the sentiment using the same banner again and Antique Gold embossing powder. I attached that below my stamped images. I used some Metallic Copper Penny and Olive Branch Nuvo Drops around the card front and on the tree. I also used clear ones over the eyes.
CARD 3:
For this card, I used the little 3x4" stamp set for this card. I stamped them ALL on a small square of white cardstock with SSS Intense Black Ink and colored them in with colored pencil. I drew a little blue frame around the images to well, frame them. haha I used Nuvo Drops in Steel Blue Jewel around the frame and they weren't dry when I photographed this, so they look kind of yucky here. I used Rose Water Jewel drops over the hearts.
I absolutely loved these two papers together. I die-cut both with the largest frame in the A2 frame die sets. I tossed the frames and attached the papers to a white card base. I used some twine and hemp tied around the card and then attached the stamped piece over it using foam tape. I added some Glossy White Nuvo drops around the stamped area of the card.
That's it for today! SSS is keeping me VERY busy this month! But when you get to play with all these pretty new stamps, you don't complain!!! The kit is called Happy Fall Y'all and the 6x8 stamp set is also called the same, but is also sold alone. I really love this stamp set! Have a great week friends and keep joining me daily for the STAMPtember collaboration stamp set blog posts! xoxo suzy
Such cool cards. Love how you made the oval card. Not usually something I do either. I need to try one.
