Today's STAMPtember collaboration stamp set is between SSS and Paper Rose Studio. This was a stamp company I was not familiar with, but this stamp set was one of my very favorites of all of the collaboration stamp sets. It is so beautiful! It is called Long Stem Flowers stamp set and Long Stem Flowers stamp and die set and here is an image:
I made one card with these gorgeous blooms. I made it a slim-line so I could fit almost all of the flowers on it.
I started by stamping the flowers and leaves (two sets of the leaves) on white cardstock with MFT Natural Ink. I colored them in with colored pencils. Usually I keep a flower one color, but I tried adding some yellows to each one to change it up and I like how the blooms turned out. I fussy cut them all out as I didn't have the dies.
I couldn't decide how to do the background for them. I was going to leave it just plain white. But then I wanted to try a Distress Oxide Ink background so I made one. I made it too dark so I tossed it. Then I did another one and liked it. Then I wanted to try one with watercolors, so I made this one. Then I couldn't decide which one I liked better, so that took up another hour of contemplation. I ended up deciding they were tied for first so I just grabbed this one and decided not to give it another thought! I added some Work Lipstick messy circles that are a stamp in this set - love that little touch! I embossed the sentiment with Ranger Leaf Green embossing powder. I love the different sentiments in this set and how there are optional sizes and fonts. I added some Nuvo Dream Drops around the background - they are my favorite because they look like pearls!
Isn't this set pretty? I think ALL of the collaboration sets have sold out except the one from yesterday from Riley and Co. This one is going to go fast - it's called Long Stem Flowers stamp set and Long Stem Flower stamp and die. Get on it if you're going to get on it haha. You won't regret it! Thanks for visiting - is anyone visiting?!?!?!? Suzy xoxo
I love what you did with these stamps. I'm nowhere near your skill with colored pencils but this inspires me to keep trying! (Got any tutorials?) That embossing powder on the greeting is a stunning match to the leaves. I would've probably gone past the "messy circle" stamp in the set without a second look, but this shows just how effective it is for completing a background -- like artsy paint spatters but controllable! Wonderful card all-around.
