Today is the release of the Simon Says Stamp and Mama Elephant collaboration stamp set for STAMPtember! I was super excited about this one as it is right down my alley of loving to create scenes with little critters on slim-line cards. So I made one for you today using this set called Winter Fox and Winter Fox stamp and die. Here is an image of the stamp and the die together:
And now for my slim-line card!
I stamped all of the images on the card front with MFT Natural Ink. I didn't have to do any masking as none of them really overlapped each other. I wasn't sure how I was going to do a background yet, but I knew I wanted to build a little scene with every single stamp in the set! I used some of them multiple times like the trees. I colored them all in with colored pencils.
I lightly drew in the background with a pencil and then I used Copics to color it. This is my first attempt at blending Copics into a scene (trying to channel Amy Young here who is a total pro). I wasn't sure what color to do the mountains since the snow on top would be white, so I went with gray - did I ruin it? I need more practice for sure, but it was fun to do and not that hard!
I embossed the sentiment from the stamp set with SSS Navy Steel embossing powder. I used an Hello Bluebird slim-line frame die around the scene and mounted it on a white card base. SSS has a scallop frame die as well, but I have it on order and haven't received it yet. I added some Nuvo drops in glossy white around the scene to look like snow and on the marshmallow. I also used Nuvo glitter drops on the fire and a gray metallic on the fire stones. I added some Midnight Sky glitter drops around the background as well. And I used some white blizzard nuvo drops for the snow on the top of the mountains and along the snow banks.
I hope you enjoyed this little Mama Elephant Winter Fox slim-line card scene. I sure had fun making it! I will be back daily for each collaboration during STAMPtember, so keep visiting friends! xoxo suzy
