Today is the release of the Simon Says Stamp September Card Kit called Just Miss You. Here is an image of the kit:
I have five cards to share with you focusing on the stamp also called Just Miss You, but I'm also focusing on all those amazing papers in the kit! I also am in love with the Sending Smiles die that comes with the kit and is also sold alone. Here are the five cards together:
CARD 1:
This card was my fastest one and came together so quickly! I started my die-cutting two of the papers with the SSS A2 largest frame die (there is just the right amount of space around them for the card base to show). I loved how the bottom paper looked like a map and the top is paper airplanes, both which went perfect with the card greetings. I cut a 1" strip of cream cardstock for the center of the papers.
I die-cut the Sending Smiles die with Lawn Fawn Guava paper and I attached that to the left side of the card just above the paper strip. I stamped the two hearts in the Just Miss You stamp set with black ink and colored them with colored pencils. I cut them out and attached one tucked under the letters and the other on the bottom of the card. I embossed the sentiment on the paper strip using SSS Antique Gold embossing powder. I added some Nuvo Drops in Gold and also some of the yellow sequins from the kit.
CARD 2:
I think this card shows off how much I love the papers in this kit. I cut 1" squares of almost all of the papers and because they are double sided, that gave me quite a few patterns to choose from. I could have used my 1" square punch, but I have no idea where it is! I attached them all to a piece of cardstock and then I trimmed off the edges so they were smooth. I attached this to the bottom of the card leaving about 1/2" at the top of the card.
I stamped the cloud stamp on the same cardstock as the card base. I stretched it a bit so it would reach across the card as it is a little smaller. I just attached it to the lid of the misti like I was going to stamp it as is. Then I removed both ends and pulled them a bit so it lengthened the clouds. Worked like a charm! I cut around the edges and then embossed the sentiment with two colors of Ranger embossing powder: Carnation Red and Garden Patina. I attached that to the top of the card and tied some hemp around it. I added a couple of the sequins in the kit below the bow.
CARD 3:
When I finished this card and the next one, I realized they look a bit like Valentine's. But that's ok as I will need cards when that holiday happens anyway! I stamped the two hearts over and over in black ink. I colored them in with Copic markers. I then used a gray marker to add shadows behind the hearts. I added a Lawn Fawn Just Stitching die around the edges and attached it to a card base.
I used the Sending Smiles die for the sentiment cutting two of the base piece so I could use the gray one as a shadow. I used some Nuvo drops on each of the hearts and also on the two little hearts I placed inside the letters. I love how they look all puffed up!
CARD 4:
I die-cut the paper with the second largest SSS A2 thin frame die and used foam tape behind it on a white card base. I then stamped the clouds and hearts and little man on the string with black ink on white cardstock. I colored all in with colored pencils. I stamped the sentiment "across the miles" on the 3 clouds by cutting it in 3 parts.
I die-cut the sending smiles die from aqua cardstock and then I used Nuvo Drops over it for some glittery texture. I added the same Nuvo glitter drops in Aquatic Mist to the hearts and a drop on each cloud. I also used some of the blue sequins in the kit around the clouds. This one could also be used now or for V-Day!
CARD 5:
This card also shows off one of the gorgeous papers in the kit. I cut it to be card size and attached it to a card base. I die-cut a frame with another of the papers using the MFT A2 frame dies. I also die-cut the sending smiles with the same paper. I attached a transparency piece behind the frame and used foam tape doubled underneath it. I added a bunch of the sequins in the kit in the shaker window.
I attached the sending smiles die words to another one die-cut from white cardstock to give it more depth. I attached that to the top of the window and a few sequins. I also attached one of the heart circles in the die. I love how this one turned out as the sequins blend perfectly with that gorgeous paper. OH NO - I just realized I didn't use the stamp set on this card - that was a total accident! I should of used a sub-title with the stamp as it has so many different choices in it! Oooops - sorry peeps! False advertisement in the title - I should have said "one kit, five cards"!
That's it for today friends. Thanks for visiting my blog and I hope you are all staying safe! xoxo suzy
