Today is the release of the Simon Says Stamp August 2020 Card Kit called Picnic Parade. I have a "one stamp, five ways" post to share with you using this kit. As usual, I focused on the 6x8 stamp set which is called Hello Sunshine. There is a second 3x4 stamp set in the kit called Summertime BBQ, so I decided to make one of my 5 cards with this set. Here is a photo of the kit in full:
CARD 1: Uses the small 3x4 Summertime BBQ stamp set in the kit
This small stamp set had a lot of little stamps in it, so I thought it would be perfect for a "random stamped" background. I stamped all of the images with black ink on white cardstock. I colored them all in with colored pencils and used white and silver gel pens in some areas. I die-cut this piece with the largest rectangle from the SSS A2 rectangle frame dies. I attached it to a red card base.
I die-cut a banner in both red and white using the SSS Sentiment Label Banners. I stamped the sentiment on the white one with black ink and colored the letters in with a colored pencil. I overlapped it on the red banner and cut the ends off on the card edge. I used some black Nuvo Drops around the card.
CARD 2: Uses the 6x8 Hello Sunshine stamp set for this card and the next three
I stamped the sun rays and circle stamp multiple times over a card front using Sunflower embossing powder. I die-cut this piece with the SSS A2 rectangle frame die and attached it to a teal card base.
I also die-cut the second smallest rectangle in the A2 rectangle set out of white and teal so I could stamp the sentiment on the inside piece and frame it in the same color as the card base. I stamped the sentiment and embossed it with Garden Patina embossing powder. I added some sparkling clear sequins around the sentiment.
CARD 3:
I wanted to make a slim-line card using this kit since it comes with 2 slim-line envelopes in red and yellow. I started by die-cutting a stitched frame die by Pink Fresh out of red cardstock. I cut a piece of white cardstock to fit on the inside of this die. I cut strips of most of the papers in the kit (I wanted to use them all since they are so cute and colorful!) and layered them next to each other along the bottom half of the card. I cut the red/white strip off the Doodlebug stickers included in the kit and attached that to the top edge of the papers.
I stamped the sentiment in Carnation Red embossing powder and the sun with Sunflower embossing powder on the top right side of the card. I added some sparkling clear sequins around the sun with one with an edge cut off for the center of the sun. Last, I added a couple of the red heart puffy stickers on the sticker sheet with the ants on it in the kit.
CARD 4:
I started this card by attaching a piece of the sun paper to the bottom half of a card front. I die-cut this piece with the largest rectangle from the SSS A2 rectangle frame dies and attached it to a yellow card base.
I embossed the sun using Sunflower Embossing Powder and the sentiment and cloud using Forget-Me-Knot Embossing Powder on the top of the card. I also stamped the solid line stamp and the outline line stamp using the same two embossing powders for a border strip. I attached that between the embossed pieces and the patterned paper. I added some sparkling clear sequins.
CARD 5:
This was my favorite cards of the first I made. I used the plaid paper that comes with the kit. I cut it to fit on the front of a white card base allowing the edges to show. I used the SSS Stitched Square Dies to cut a window in the top center. I embossed the yellow sunrays with Sunflower embossing powder on a white card base, centered inside the square window. I added some sparkling clear 3mm sequins and some sparkling clear jewels inside the shaker window.
I stamped two of the smaller clouds on white cardstock with clear embossing powder. I then cut around the clouds and covered them with Stardust Stickles. I die-cut a yellow frame and a white rectangle using the A2 Rectangle Frame dies again. I stamped the sentiment with black ink and attached them to the bottom center of the card. I added some more of the sparkling clear jewels around the sentiment. I added some of the red puffy heart stickers to the clouds and to the sentiment.
That's it - I hope you enjoyed this inspiration using the SSS Picnic Parade August card kit. Keep in mind that the stamp sets called Hello Sunshine and Summertime BBQ are both sold alone as well. Stay well my friends and thank you so much for visiting today! Suzy xoxo
WOW!! I really loved your cards! I've never seen clear shiny sequins or at least, thought to use them in the way you did.....fabulous!! TFS!!
