Hi friends! Today I am a guest designer for the Pinkfresh Studio March 2020 Essentials Slim Cuts Release Blog Hop!!! I'm so happy you came to visit today. I think they asked me to participate (my first time with Pinkfresh) because I make so many slim-line cards. And I was very happy to get a chance to get my hands on these amazing new dies as Pinkfresh is the first company that I am aware of that has come out with dies for slim-line cards. Here is an image of all of the new dies:
Today I have 2 cards to share with you using the new dies and some Pinkfresh Studio stamps.
My first card uses the new Slim Fancy Diagonal Stripes Die for the frame of the card die-cut from yellow cardstock. I attached that to a white card base I made. I then die-cut the inside piece using the smaller die frame in the same package from white cardstock. Because this frame is really thin, it moved a bit when I die-cut it, so I found it best to use washi tape along the sides of the frame as I die-cut it to keep the rectangle shape perfect.
I applied Distress Oxide inks to the white piece to use as a background for my scene. I attached this to the yellow frame/card front. I stamped all of the images from the "A Day In The City" stamp set on white cardstock with MFT Natural Ink. I colored them in with colored pencils and fussy cut around the edges. I attached them all to the front of the card.
I stamped a sentiment from the same stamp set on the banner using black ink. I also stamped some of the birds in the stamp set on the background of my card with black ink. I accidentally set the lid on the bottom of the card where the green grass is on the right side and left some residue - why do I also do stuff like this?!?!?! I love how this card turned out as that stamp set is just adorable and worked so perfect for a scene on a slim-line card design. And the frame is just the perfect finishing touch (and will be on all my slim-line cards here on out!).
CARD 2:
For this card, I used the new Slim Braided Circles Die die-cut from white cardstock. I then stamped all of the flower images from the Fancy Blooms stamp set with MFT Natural Ink on white cardstock. I colored them all in with colored pencils and die-cut them out with the matching Fancy Blooms dies.
I arranged the three larger flower groupings inside each of the three openings. I used a pencil to draw lines on the areas I wanted to go inside the circle (not hang over the edges) I cut just outside of the lines and tucked those edges under the circle edges when attaching the images.
I added some Marigold jewels and Watermelon jewels by Pretty Pink Posh as flower centers. I stamped a sentiment from the Blooming Bouquet stamp using black ink on the bottom of the card. I thought this was an applicable greeting for just about anyone during these rough times. The question will be who should I send it to?!?!?! I added some more jewels around the sentiment.
