Hey peeps! Today I have a "one stamp, five ways" post to share with you using the brand new Simon Says Stamp card kit called Stronger Together. Here is an image of the kit including the Stronger Together stamp set that I use on all of my six cards:
The stamp set can be purchased alone if you prefer not to get the entire kit. And there are dies for the stamp you can buy here (I fussy cut my images in these cards). The paper pad in the kit is the 6x6 ModaScrap Spring Flowers. I have three of my watercolor cards in the kit with just flowers on them (printed on Ranger Watercolor Paper). I have all three painted below to show you how they will look. But they are also selling my floral set alone called Suzy's Spring Watercolor Prints. I'll be posting the entire set all painted very soon (as soon as I get them in the mail!). I purposely left sentiments off this set so you can customize them to be for any occasion you want them for. Here is an image of the set:
I used my "random stamping" method for this card, fitting the different stamps around each other like a puzzle on my Misti. This time I stamped them on Ranger Watercolor Paper so I could paint them. I stamped them all with MFT Natural Ink and used my Daniel Smith and Nuvo Shimmer Powders on them. I then die-cut this piece with the PPP Notes and Things die that is a rectangle. I also cut a white piece of cardstock full card size and die-cut the same rectangle from that so both sides had stitching. I attached both the painted piece and the white frame to a white card base.
I painted my Cherry Bomb Nuvo Shimmer Powder on mixed media paper and then die-cut the banner for the greeting out of it. I have quite a few pieces of painted paper I use for die-cutting things. For this greeting banner I used my brand new SSS A2 Thin Frames dies - the smaller ones are perfect for greetings. The largest one (which I also used) is full card size, but if you remove the thin frame, you get a nice beveled edge rectangle one size smaller than a card which I will use for most of my cards! These dies are definitely worth their price as I will be using them all the time. I embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder and then added some PPP Watermelon Jewels around it.
CARD 2:
For this card, I painted the background with the Atlantis Burst Shimmer Powder - it is an aqua green color. I love the texture and mix of colors you get from these powders. I die-cut my rectangle with the same A2 frames and used the inside piece on a white card base. I used the same SSS A2 dies for the sentiment. I used some more of my mixed media paper scraps painted with Cherry Bomb Nuvo shimmer powder. I die-cut the hello word and the frame from that and the inside piece from white cardstock. I also die-cut the hello out of white cardstock and glued the pink to the white for more depth. I attached that to the bottom of the card.
I stamped all of the images with MFT Natural Ink on white cardstock. I colored them in with colored pencils. I fussy cut them out and then attached them to the front of the card. I added some PPP jewels in Watermelon and Shamrock around the sentiment.
CARD 3:
This card is crazy! I started by making the oval frame from the pretty lavender paper in the kit, but then I pulled out this lavender glitter paper and do a switch-a-roo. It took the card up a level haha! I die-cut the patterned paper from the ModaScrap Spring Flowers 6x6 pad under the flowers with the SSS Oval dies and the glitter paper with the same and attached both to a card base. I then die-cut the word hello from the same glitter paper (all in the kit). I stamped the "I miss you" stamp on a SSS Sentiment Label with black ink.
I stamped the flower arrangement on the inside patterned paper with MFT Natural Ink (twice to make sure the lines were dark enough to see over the paper). I then colored them in with colored pencils. This is the first time I have tried this - stamping over a patterned paper and coloring on it. I love how it turned out! The pencils are opaque enough to cover, but still have a little bit of transparency to show the design underneath them. I was happy with my experiment! I attached the hello and I Miss You stamp on the bottom of the flowers and attached some PPP Amethyst jewels around it. I added some lavender twine to the left side of the card.
THESE NEXT THREE CARDS ARE MADE WITH THE WATERCOLOR CARDS IN THE KIT:
CARD 4:
This is the first of the three watercolor cards in the kit. I cut out the dog-wood flowers from the watercolor sheet and painted them with watercolors and then used colored pencils to add lines/details/shading. I die-cut the patterned paper from the ModaScrap 6x6 paper pad with the SSS A2 largest die and attached that to a pink card base. I attached the flowers over the paper.
I stamped the miss you and heart stamp from the stamp set on the bottom of the card using Pink Peony embossing powder. And then I stopped - I didn't even add sequins or jewels to this one (I resisted the urge).
CARD 5:
This is my favorite card - it looks like a galaxy background which I have always been too intimidated to try! I think I might now! I wanted a dark background, but this color mix just kind of happened. I used Shimmer Powder (this is great example of how cool they are with the mix of colors in them). I used Lilac Waterfall, Violet Brocade, Meteorite Shower, and Blue Blitz. It took a couple coats of paint and lots of water to build up the color. I used the SSS A2 Frame Dies to die-cut the piece to be just 1/8" smaller than the card base on each side. I attached it to a white card base.
I colored the inside of the flowers with yellow colored pencils and then added gray shading on the petals with colored pencils. I flicked some white watercolor over the front of the card. I stamped the sentiment with white embossing powder.
CARD 6:
This is another one of my watercolor cards and all I did is watercolor it! I used the Shimmer Powders for the background (Falling Leaves and Green Parade) and for the pink flowers (Cherry Bomb). I put water all over the petals and then applied the powder to just the outside edges so it would move inward. That's shy there are colorful areas and white areas. I have all the expensive Daniel Smith watercolors, but I am really enjoying these less expensive Shimmer powders. They move in water so well. I flicked some green watercolor over the entire thing.
I die-cut this card with the SSS A2 frame dies and then attached it to the bright pink card base. I stamped the two pieces of the sentiment (cut them apart) with black ink on a white cardstock strip from the SSS Sentiment Labels. I added some PPP Sparkling Clear Sequins around the greeting.
I really think this is a beautiful kit and I especially love the Stronger Together stamp set with all the sentiments in it. The flowers in the stamp set are beautiful and I especially love the watercolor cards included (haha). They are called the Spring Flowers Watercolor Cards. I hope you enjoyed this "one stamp (kit), five (six) ways" post today! Thanks for stopping by!!! Suzy
