Hi MFT friends! Today I have a "one stamp, five ways" post to share with you, but I only made 4 cards, so I have to change the title to "one stamp, four ways" this time. MFT released their newest products today and you can see the entire release HERE. I work with Stacey Yacula's sets each month - this month her stamp set is called Sweet Shop. Here is an image of it:
And here are my four cards to share with you with directions for each:
CARD 1:
This card uses several of the newest MFT products including the Sweet Shop stamp and die set, the You Take the Cake Die-namics, and the Perfect Fit Balloon Die-namics. I started with a stitched rectangle using white cardstock. I die-cut the balloon with one of my MANY pieces of watercolored paper I have on hand to use on cards. This one had aquas and lavenders and I thought they looked so pretty on the balloon. I actually die-cut about 5 balloons out of all different papers as I love this die so much! I attached that to the front of the card. I die-cut the letters from the You Take the Cake Die-namics out of white cardstock and some more of my watercolored scrap pieces from the balloon. I attached all of the white cardstock letters and then glued the watercolored letters over the white ones that were against the white background.
I stamped this darling little mouse baking in the oven stamp on white cardstock with MFT Natural Ink and colored it in with colored pencils. Sometimes after I color something with no-line stamping, I decide it needs outlines, so I go back and doodle them on with a very fine-tip black marker. I like the double line doodled look better than black lines around stamps sometimes and I love the challenge of outlining things (having a pen in my hands at all times makes me happy!). I die-cut this piece and attached it to the bottom right side of the card. I added three Sparkling Clear Sequins to the balloon.
Card 2:
I made this shaker card using a few products from the new release including the Sweet Shop stamp set again, the Sprinkled With Love stamp, and the Mini Cupcake Maker die-namics. For the opening in the card, I used a die that is new to me called Rectangle Peek-a-boo Die-namics. I die-cut that one out of the top center of a white cardstock card front. I filled the inside of the shaker with 3mm sparkling clear sequins and lots of sprinkles from the new Mini Cupcake Maker die-namics. I used bright pink and bright blue glitter paper for these pieces, but many are turned upside down and look white. I put another piece of watercolored paper I had in my scraps that has blue and pink stripes on it behind the window.
I die-cut all the pieces from the Mini Cupcake Maker die-namics and colored them with Copic markers. I used Sherbet Shimmer Glitter Drops over the cupcake frosting. I attached them over the shaker window. I stamped the balloons from the Sweet Shop stamp set with MFT Natural Ink and colored them in with colored pencils. I then used Tonic Crystal Glaze over the top of them. I attached them over the window on the right. I stamped the Sprinkled With Love stamp using Pink Peony embossing powder on the bottom of the card. I added some Sparkling Clear Sequins on the front of the card.
Card 3:
I made this slim-line card with just the Sweet Shop stamp set. I made the background with a 3.5" x 8.5" piece of cardstock. I rubbed Distress Oxide inks over it with my blender brushes in Spun Sugar and Squeezed Lemonade. I kept them fairly light/subtle by just rubbing them on the edges inward so they met in the middle without overlapping the colors.
I stamped all of the images from Sweet Shop with MFT Natural Ink on white cardstock. I colored them in with colored pencils. I resisted the urge to outline them with black this time! If I could have any color stove I wanted, I definitely think it would be pink! haha
I drew strings on the set of balloons with a fine tip black marker. I tucked the balloons under the other image. I used foam tape behind the top of the two kitchen images so they are slightly elevated and the balloons tucked behind them. I stamped the sentiment on the top left with black ink. I added some glossy white Nuvo Drops around the background and for lines on the balloons.
Card 4:
I created the background for this card using the MFT Inside Out Rounded Rectangle dies with the largest one die-cut from white cardstock. I watercolored the inside piece with red watercolor and flicked some yellow on it as well. I attached the white cardstock over the watercolored background.
I stamped all of the image from the Sweet Tooth stamp set on white cardstock with MFT Natural Ink and colored them in with colored pencils. I did two sets of balloons and overlapped them so there are just 5 showing (i prefer odd numbers on all card details!). I attached the balloons behind the table stamp. I colored these balloons sets before making the card, so I realized they don't really match the card that well (same on the other cards with balloons). That is one of the negative aspects of coloring all my images before planning my card designs out. Just the blue and aqua one are throwing me off here! I added Nuvo Crystal Glaze over the balloons. I used some Nuvo Drops in glossy white over the background.
I wish i had gotten one more card made so I could have stuck with my original blog post series name! I'll do better next time! Have a great week friends and I hope you enjoy the new MFT Release as much as I am! Thanks for visiting today! Suzy
All your cards are great and the perfect showcase for the products from this release.

Wow, you made four cards?! And they are all so pretty! I love all the soft colors you've used, they all match together. My absolute favourite is the shaker card, sometimes less is more!

Your cards are so sweet! Love your color palettes. A shaker card is the perfect idea for the Sprinkled with Love sentiment. I'm so glad you resisted adding a black outline to your slimline...your coloring is so beautiful and detailed on it's own!
