Today is the new December 2019 product release at My Favorite Things. I have 3 cards to share with you using the new products. I always like to highlight the Stacey Yacula stamp sets as she is one of my favorite illustrators in the industry. Her new set is called All Tucked In and I have 2 cards using that set below. My third card uses the new Zippy Zebras stamp set as well as some elements from Bear Hug Bunch for the background/scene. So let's get started!
Card 1: All Tucked In 1
My first card uses the new Stacey Yacula stamp set called All Tucked In. It is a darling set with critters and bedroom furniture perfect to create little scenes. I started this card by applying Distress Oxide ink in Spun Sugar on the top and Tumbled Glass on the bottom using my Picket Fence brushes. I then stamped all of the cute little images with MFT Natural Ink and colored them in with colored pencils. I attached them over the background into this little bedroom scene.
I used Tonic Nuvo Drops for the drawer pulls and on the heart and moon on the pictures. I stamped the sentiment on the top of the card using Wendy Vecchi Forget-Me-Knot embossing powder. I used Glossy Accents on the fishbowl (which are not dry so they don't look totally clear yet).
Card 2: Zippy Zebras
This card uses the new Zippy Zebras stamp set. I made this into a slim-line card which is 8.5" wide x 3.5" tall. I cut one 8.5" x 11" piece of white cardstock into a 7" x 8.5" and fold that in half to make the card base. I then take the leftover piece and cut that to be 3.5" x 8.5". You will end up with one .5" strip of paper left, so they basically take a full piece of 8.5x11" paper. I love using this size card to create scenes that are big enough to use all the stamps in a critter stamp set.
I used the Snowy Hillside dies from last months release for the ground. I applied Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide Inks to three ground pieces. I used Tumbled Glass for the sky. I then attached the three inked ground pieces over the bottom of the card front overlapping them.
I stamped all of the zebras and accessories on white cardstock with black ink. I also stamped some scene images from the new Bear Hug Bunch stamp set including a tree, a tree stump, and 2 clouds. I colored them in with colored pencils. I then attached them over the background creating this little scene.
I used Tonic Nuvo Drops in Red Sunstone Glitter (new color alert!) over the bike, butterfly and flowers. I stamped the sentiment with black ink on the top right side of the card and then used white glossy Nuvo Drops around the sky area.
Card 3: All Tucked In and Big Hugs Die
This card was also made this card with the new Stacey Yacula All Tucked In stamp set. I also used the new Big Hugs Circle Die-namics on this card. I started by rubbing Distress Oxide Ink in Antique Linen and Squeezed Lemonade on the bottom of the card. I die-cut the Big Hugs Circle die out of the top center of the card. I die-cut a second one and rubbed Spun Sugar Distress Oxide Ink on it. I attached it over the first one. When I ran this die through my die-cut machine, it stayed together so I was able to adhere it to a card base all kept together. I then ran the second one through the die-cut machine twice so it would give me a clean cut that would easily be removed from the paper around it. That is the one I used over the first one to add dimension and color.
I stamped all of the images from this stamp set on white cardstock with MFT Natural Ink and colored them in with colored pencils. I created some patterns on the bedding with my pencils. I cut off the books and fish tank from the little dresser so my bird could sit on top of it. I used three little pictures inside the circle, but this area would have been perfect for a shaker window. It also would have been cute to make this appear like a bedroom window and put some trees and sky in the circle. Next time!
I embossed the sentiment on the top of the card with Wendy Vecchi Pink Peony embossing powder. I also added some Glossy White Nuvo Drops around the sentiment and Big Hugs Circle die.
That's it! I hope you enjoyed these cards with the new product release - just more products on my wish list for Christmas gifts now! Have a great holiday season friends! xoxo suzy
