I often post Hello Bluebird cards on Instagram without doing a blog post about how I made them. I have quite a few holiday cards from this year that I haven't blogged. So today I will be blogging LOTS of them, but I'll keep the directions short so as not to overwhelm anyone! If you have any questions about anything, just leave them in the comments and I will answer pronto. At the end of the post, I have all products that I have used linked to both the SSS store and the HB store. Many of the stamps I used are out of stock, but will be back in shortly. They are very popular stamps and my favorites in the industry, so I'm not surprised! Ok, Here we go!
This is a shaker card using two of the HB scene dies for the background including Snowy Sky and Winter Woods Overlay. I added all the different types of Pretty Pink Posh sparkling clear sequins and jewels inside the shaker window. I painted the background with Nuvo Shimmer Powder in Meteorite Showers. I added some white paint splotches over it for snow.
For the stamps, I used a deer from Deer Friend and Fall Buddies as I thought they looked so cute together - like a couple. I used a tree from the O Christmas Tree set in the background. I colored all of the stamps with colored pencils using a light color of ink so there are no lines. I hung a Merry Christmas Banner from the Cocoa Party stamp set on the top of the trees.
CARD 2:
I used my favorite random stamping technique for this card. I used all the stamps in the Family Photo stamp set (there are a lot besides just the main image of the family all together). I colored them all in with colored pencils. I used a silver uniball marker over the snowflakes.
I used the Bold Holidays dies for the main sentiment painted with Nuvo Shimmer Powder in Atlantis Burst. I used a banner below it from the Tag Builder Die set painted with Catherine Wheel Shimmer Powder with the sentiment embossed with white embossing powder.
I added a snowflake from the Frosty Flakes dies covered with Stickles (my new favorite glittery glue for snowflakes as it is soo shimmery - there are 4 different ones that I love all linked in the supplies).
CARD 4:
I used the ground pieces from the Let It Snow background scene die for the snowbanks and used Stickles glitter glue on the top of each. I used a frame from any of the scene dies. I used the word JOY from the inside of the letters on the last card so they wouldn't go to waste! I used the stamp "comfort &" from the Typed Christmas Stamp.
I stamped trees from the Frosty Friends stamp set and bunnies from the Skating Party stamp set. I stamped them all with MFT Natural Ink and then colored them all in with colored pencils. I added snowflakes covered in Stickles using the Frosty Flakes dies.
CARD 5:
I love this card so much - I think it is my favorite. I might have to frame it! The darling stamps make it of course. I used the North Pole Littles as well as mountains from Frosty Littles and trees from Frosty Friends. I created the snow using Lawn Fawn white glitter paper.
I painted the sky using shimmer powder. The word believe in the title is from Christmas Words #1 dies. I covered it with LOTS of glitter so it really shimmers. I added lots of glitter glue all over everything else also!
CARD 6:
The sky on this card makes me giddy! It is shimmer powders again! I used Cherry Bomb and Blue Blitz overlapped in the center for the purple color. I can't stop using these shimmer powders as they give me such intense color and blend so well. I used a snow bank from the Let it Snow die and a frame from any of the scene dies. The falala is from the same Christmas Words #1 dies.
The stamped images are from O Christmas Tree. They are colored with colored pencils again. Lots of sparkling glitter all over this one as well.
CARD 7:
This is a slim-line card made with the Merry Pigs stamp set. I cut hills for the ground and used Distress Oxide Ink for the sky. I used glossy white Nuvo Drops along the edges of the snow banks.
I colored all the pigs in with colored pencils and added them around the card creating a cute little scene. The trees are all stamped using the Christmas Is Coming stamp set (stamped the same one like 4 times and cut it off the stamped image it is part of). I also used the Birch Trees Dies in the background.
The sentiment is embossed using the Holiday Flurries stamp set.
This card uses the Frosty Littles stamps. The ground is created using Moonstone Glimmer Paste over white cardstock. The sky is painted with Aquatic Mist shimmer powder.
I used lots of mountains and small trees from this stamp set covered with Nuvo Glitter drops and white gloss drops to take them up a notch! I arranged them behind all the little snowmen.
That's all I've got in me to say tonight about all these cards haha. If you have any questions, just ask in the comments as I know I didn't give them the full descriptions like I usually do. I just let too many build up to talk about all at once! have a great holiday friends as I probably won't be back until they are all over! Thanks so much for your support and visiting my blog! xoxoxo Suzy
