I couldn't put the title for this one as "one stamp, five ways" as I have a total of 22 tags to share with you today. So I exaggerated a bit in my title! Today I am sharing tags made with the Simon Says Stamp Special Edition Ho Ho Ho Tag Kit. Here is an image of the kit:
I want to say (public service announcement) that this might be the best kit I have ever worked with by Simon. There is so much in it and it all works so well together. I saw pre-made tags at Costco this week and based on the price, I decided it's a much better deal to buy a kit and make your own, not to mention way more fun. I definitely got my money's worth on this kit and I have so much left to make more. But let's get started on the 22 I have to share. Keep in mind, I use the main stamp set on ALL of my tags since that is the focus of my post. The 6x8" stamp set is also called Ho Ho Ho and is sold by itself HERE.
Before I get started, I want to show you the two tag dies I used for (almost) all of these tags both by SSS. They are very basic shapes and are large tags which worked really well for this kit. The first is called the Stitched Dress Up Tags and the second is called Large Tags. Here are images:
All Tags Together:
You can see from this photo that I had a lot of fun with this kit! I created some very traditional tags, some classy tags, and some playful fun non-traditional tags. Hopefully I won't be giving away more than 22 gifts this year!
TAGS MADE WITH PAPER STRIPS:
These tags were SO simple. I tore the paper strips off the top of half of the papers in the tablet in the kit. I then attached them to a piece of scrap paper and then die-cut the four tags out of this paper. So I created patterned paper with the strips on the top of papers. I love the way these turned out!
On the tag on the left, I used the Ho Ho Ho tag that came in the kit. I also die-cut one from white cardstock and then used the white letters inside the Ho's. (hmmmm that might not sound right haha). I added some white Nuvo Drops and a white tag top and red twine. For the one of the right side, I used one of the large tag dies. I then cut out a design from one of the papers and attached that to the top of the card. I used some Nuvo Drops and a red circle top and red twine that comes in the kit.
For both of these tags I used the Stitched Dress Up Tag dies, but without one of the toppers. I embossed the sentiment Christmas Wishes on both with Carnation Red embossing powder and Antique Gold embossing powder. I used the SSS Sentiment Labels for the one on the left and the PPP Stitched Pieces die for the one on the right. I just added a circle top for each and some twine/red trim. The little pink drops on the one on the left are from the kit epoxy stickers.
GOLD DRESSY TAGS:
These are my dressy/classy (so not me hahaha) tags. I just bought a big role of gold wrapping paper at Costco, so they will go perfectly with it. I used the SSS Large Tag dies for the top 3 and then a Mama Elephant Park Avenue Framed Tag die for the bottom one (isn't that a cute tag shape?!?!?!).
I die-cut the tag from white cardstock and then embossed the sentiment from the large stamp set on the front of the tag with Antique Gold embossing powder. I die-cut the top piece from gold paper (from a previous SSS card kit). I added some PPP gold jewels and Goldenrod Stickles. I used the SSS Large Tag die for the one on the right and then embossed the Ho Ho Ho stamp on the top with the same embossing powder. I added a white snowflake using a SSS Rina snowflake die I had in the my stash and used a gold jewel in the center of it. The sentiment is from the snow man stamp set in the kit using black ink on a SSS Sentiment Label.
I used the Ho Ho Ho tag for the one on the left with white cardstock and then used gold paper for the ho ho ho letters. I used a small Simon snowflake die cut from gold paper on the top right and then added some gold jewels and gold twine. For the one on the right, I stamped the two snowflake stamps in the bigger stamp set with some Galaxy Gold ink I had. I stamped the sentiment Holiday Cheer with the same ink on a PPP Stitched Pieces die. I used the same small snowflake die cut from gold paper and added some SSS flat gold sequins.
STOCKING AND PRESENT DIE TAGS:
I love the stocking and present tag dies in this kit. You could make so many tags with just these two dies. Here are the ones I made with the stocking:
I die-cut the stocking die from red glitter paper, red paper with gold dots from the kit pad, white cardstock, and gold paper. I then attached the stocking pieces together over white scrap paper and then cut around them once they were dry so they have a backing. I added some glossy white Nuvo Drops to the white part of the stocking on the left. The gold metallic paper is Tim Holtz Ideology 8x8 paper from a previous card kit.
I brought out my beloved Nuvo Shimmer Powders for these gift tags. I paint mixed media paper with the shimmer powders and then I die-cut things out of them. I used Cherry Bomb, Blue Blitz, Violet Brocade, and Falling Leaves for the gifts. I die-cut the packages out of these and then also out of white cardstock and silver glitter paper. I arranged them in two different designs. I used White Blizzard Nuvo Drops over the white ribbon on the tag on the right.
SNOWMAN TAG:
I used some circle dies for the two snowballs, but I have no idea what dies they came from. I stamped the scarf and the hat from the smaller stamp set in the kit and embossed them with Pink Peony and Forget-Me-Knot embossing powders. I used the epoxy candy circles for the buttons and the nose and black nuvo drops for the eyes and mouth. I attached the circles together and made the snowman into a tag.
STAMPED TAGS:
I used the Stitched Tag Die for the tag on the left and the Large Tag die for the one on the right. I stamped the hohoho background stamp with red embossing powder on the one on the left. I stamped the To and From with black ink on a small stitched rectangle using the small snowman stamp set. I stamped the candy piece with MFT Natural Ink and colored it with colored pencils. I used two of the little candy epoxy stickers. I used blue glitter paper for the tag on the right. I then stamped the Love, Joy, and Peace stamp with MFT Natural Ink and colored over it with colored pencils. I cut that out and put it on the front of the tag. I added some more of the epoxy stickers and a pink glitter circle on the top. I love the colors in that tag!
Both of these tags are from the SSS Large Tag dies. I used the large diagonal stripes stamp with embossing powder on both tags. I used Nuvo Turquoise Lagoon embossing powder on the one on the left and Wow Misty Sky embossing powder on the one on the right. I stamped the "holiday cheer" and presents with MFT Natural Ink and colored them in with colored pencils. I cut them out and put them on the tag on the left. I used some silver glitter Nuvo drops on that tag and a silver Uniball marker for the ribbon on the presents. For the tree on the one on the right I used the SSS Festive Trees stamp. The "happy holidays" sentiment is from the snowman stamp set and I used the same embossing powder for that.
I used some Pink Carnation Nuvo Mica Mist for the tag on the left with the SSS stitched dress up tag die. I stamped the sentiment from the large stamp set and embossed it with Wow Royal Crush embossing powder. I added a small white snowflake covered with White Blizzard nuvo drops. I used some PPP Sparkling Clear Confetti sequins. I used Marine Mist Nuvo Sparkle Spray for the tag on the right and then embossed the diagonal lines stamp over it with Teal Tinsel embossing powder. I stamped the stockings and the sentiment with MFT Natural Ink and colored them in with colored pencils. I attached those over the tag and added some epoxy stickers.
SMALL TAGS:
I used the SSS Fanciful Tag die for these two small tags. I stamped the items on them and embossed with Pink Peony, Aqua Tinsel, and Wow Soft Mango embossing powder. I used Nuvo Silver embossing powder for the sentiment and ribbon on the one on the right and Antique Gold embossing powder for the sentiment on the left. I added some Goldenrod Stickles for the dots on the left.
These two smaller tags are made with the SSS Snowflake dies. I covered the snowflakes and edges of the tags with White Blizzard Nuvo Drops. I stamped the sentiments from the large stamp set on the top of the tags and embossed with Nuvo Pink Popsicle embossing powder and Nuvo silver embossing powder.
Whew - that was a lot of tags. But think of all that you could make with this kit! I feel like I barely made a dent in all of the kit supplies - especially the paper. I'm sure some of the other designers showed you great ways to make use of some of those gorgeous papers. I hope you enjoyed this post and if you are interested in the kit, act quickly as the Special Edition ones sell out really fast. Thanks so much for visiting and HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO YOU ALL! xoxoxoxox Suzy
These are amazing! I love how you've used so many different elements from the kit to create such delightful designs! I can't wait to dig into my kit when it arrives on Monday!
Thanks so much for sharing and inspiring!
