Hello everyone that is deciding to visit my blog tonight! It's the Simon Says Stamp new release called Cheer and Joy! It is full of holiday products, so let's get this Christmas Card Making season started ya'll!!! I have a few products I illustrated in this release. First is my newest set of watercolor cards called Christmas Critters. I'll have them all on my blog on Friday am during the first day of the blog hop colored! Here is an image (click on it to get to them at the SSS store):
I also have two stamp sets in this release. The first one is called Christmas Globe and I'll be doing a "one stamp, five ways" post with it on the SSS blog on October 30th. The second set is called Falling For You and it is pictured second below. I fit in one more Fall set for the season!
Today I am using the Falling For You stamp set for my "one stamp, five ways" feature. I have five cards to share with you!
My first card uses the Simon Says Stamp Birch Tree Circle die. I die-cut that from a rectangle of white cardstock. I used my brand new Tonic Shimmer Powders to make a background to go behind the die opening. For this one, I used Catherine Wheel and Golden Sparkler. I love these powders so much. I'll do a blog post about them soon! I stamped the sentiment from the stamp set on the bottom of the card with Lawn Fawn Doe ink. It looks a little blurry here - sorry about that!
I stamped the images from the new Falling For You stamp set with MFT Natural Ink on white cardstock and colored them with colored pencils. I used Glossy Accents on the owl's eyes. I cut around them and attached them around the circle die. I added some Autumn Leaves sequins around the card to finish it.
CARD 2:
This card uses my new Tonic Shimmer Powders again and this time I got a little crazy with them. I used Golden Sparkler for this background. You just paint a piece of watercolor paper with water first and then drop the powders onto the wet paper. It spreads like this making the coolest backgrounds. I didn't move the color around with a paintbrush for this background, so it is a little wild! I die-cut a circle die out of the top center of the background piece so I knew where to build my wreath of leaves.
I stamped a whole bunch of leaves using the new Falling For You stamp set and a squirrel with MFT Natural Ink. I colored them all in with colored pencils. I cut around the edges. I arranged the leaves around the circle to form a wreath design. I attached the squirrel stamp inside the wreath. I embossed the sentiment in the circle with Antique Gold embossing powder. I added some Autumn Leaves sequins around the leaves.
CARD 3:
Guess what??? I used my new Shimmer Powders for this background as well! I've been playing with them quite a bit, so you may see a lot of them for a while! I used Cherry Bomb for this one. I applied it to a wet piece of watercolor paper. I used the SSS Repeating Circle dies in the center of the card. I backed this piece with a piece of white cardstock.
I stamped the owl five times on white cardstock with MFT Natural Ink and colored them in with colored pencils. I stamped the sentiment in the bottom center circle using Lawn Fawn Pink Flamingo ink. I attached the little owl's in the other circles using foam tape under their heads. I added some Nuvo Drops around the card in Glossy White, Dandelion Yellow, and Sherbet Shimmer.
CARD 4:
For this card, I used all of the stamps in the set and randomly stamped them over a piece of white cardstock. I colored them all in with colored pencils. I die-cut this piece with a Lawn Fawn large stitched rectangle.
I stamped the sentiment with white embossing powder on a tag from the Hello Bluebird Gallery Frame 4 die. I hung the tag from some twine that I tied to the top of the card.
CARD 5:
I made the background for this card using the SSS Center Cut Geometric Pattern cling stamp. I stamped it on white cardstock with MFT Natural Ink and then colored it in with colored pencils. I die-cut a SSS Stitched Circle die out of the center and filled that with a circle of cream cardstock.
I stamped the critters from the new stamp set on white cardstock with MFT Natural Ink and colored them in with colored pencils. I added a ground with a pencil to "ground" them. I stamped the sentiment with Lawn Fawn Walnut Ink and then added some sequins to the circle to finish the card.
I hope you enjoyed these 5 cards using my new stamp set called Falling For You! I'll be back on Friday morning with my 12 watercolor cards all colored as part of the SSS Cheer and Joy blog hop - day 1! See you soon! Thanks for visiting today. Suzy
