Today is the My Favorite Things new product release. I am using the newest Stacey Yacula stamp and die set called Merry Wishes. It is darling as are all her stamp sets which is why I always work with them! Here is an image of the stamp:
Here are my two cards using this Merry Wishes stamp set and Merry Wishes dies.
This card uses my favorite technique that I call "random stamping". I stamped all of the images on a white cardstock rectangle with MFT Natural Ink (my favorite ink for no-line stamping). I used a Misti to arrange the images around each other to fit like a puzzle. This is my favorite part of random stamping as I love puzzles! I turned some of the images sideways and this way and that, but I tried to keep all of them facing upward. After they were all colored, I added shadows behind them with a grey colored pencil.
I decorated the colored images with lots of Tonic Nuvo Drops - primarily the glitter ones which are my favorites! I stamped the sentiment from the set on a white banner with black ink and layered that on the bottom of the card. I then used some more of the Rhubarb Crumble glossy Nuvo Drops on the edges of the banner. I mounted the card on a cranberry cardstock base.
CARD 2:
This is a slim-line card. I make it by cutting a 3.5" wide strip off the end of a piece of cardstock. I then cut the remaining piece to be 7" wide. That leaves about an inch of leftover paper. I fold the larger piece in half for the card base. I use the smaller piece for the card front. For this card, I used Spun Sugar Distress Oxide Ink on the extra piece for the card front. I splattered some white drops over the ink to look like snow.
I used the two little snow bank dies in the die set for slits for the tree and the house. I attached this piece to the white card base. I stamped all of the images in the stamp set on white cardstock with MFT Natural ink and colored them in with colored pencils. I attached them to the front of the card tucking the tree and the house under the slits.
I added lots of details with Nuvo Drops again - primarily the glitter ones. They really dress up the ornaments and the garland on the tree. I love using them over my colored images.
I
I stamped the sentiment with black ink on the top of the card. I used some glossy white Nuvo Drops over the front of the card to look like more snow.
I hope you enjoyed these cards today using Merry Wishes! Check out the entire new release at MFT as there are lots of fun holiday products in it. I love making holiday cards so I'm excited to be starting them with these two being my first ones. I've linked all of the products I used on this post below to both the MFT store and the Simon Says Stamp store. Have a great week friends and thanks for visiting! Suzy

Both of your cards are fantastic, but I'm quite taken with the random stamping method, never tried that, but I'm going to! Very nice!
