It's our favorite month of the year in stamping land - Simon Says Stamp's STAMPtember! Every September, they have a huge party/celebration and release a ton of new products and give away lots of stuff and have lots of promotions and Facebook lives and on and on and on and on! The new STAMPtember release can be seen HERE and is linked at the bottom of my post (with a set of sequins). I have a new set of Suzy's Fall Watercolor Cards in this release you can see here:
They are all printed on Ranger Watercolor paper and can be colored with any (and/or all) coloring mediums. I have a total of 35 sets at SSS now and you can see all of Suzy's Watercolor card sets here. And now you get to see all of these 12 colored so you will see a lot of photos. At the end of all of the photos I'll give you some tips for coloring the cards and the details for today's blog party celebration!

TIPS/TECHNIQUES for coloring Suzy's Watercolor Cards: (Some of these may be repetitive from past posts!)
- Use a mixture of coloring mediums on each as I do. I always start with watercolor and paint the background first. Then I paint other larger items. Next, I go in with colored pencils and add shading and details and color all of the smaller items. Copic Markers work well mixed with both of these mediums as well.
- I used Tonic Nuvo Drops all over my images to add texture, shine, and sometimes glitter. I used a lot of my glitter ones on these cards. Just spread them in a thin layer over your colored areas. If you only want to purchase one Nuvo Drop for these Fall cards, get the Golden Sunset Glitter ones - I use them the most of all of my drops!
- I left sentiments off some of these so you can add your own; I've used an assortment of dies and stamps for these with Simon Says Stamp's Sentiment Strips which are all listed in the supply list.
- I add frames to some of mine using some of the stitched rectangles and frames in the supply list; if you have the SSS Stitched Rectangles, cut a piece of cardstock full card size and then use the largest rectangle to create a frame which I used on my owl card.
- I love the new Autumn Sequin mix in the new release as it worked beautifully with many of these Autumn colors on my cards; I also use PPP Espresso Jewels on many of the cards.
- I leave some of the letters open so you can color them in; I like to use pencils for this and use a darker color on the bottom and a lighter color on the top mixing them in the middle.
- I flicked watercolor over the fronts of many of these to give them a messy background; the smaller the brush you use the smaller the flecks of paint.
- Add texture to areas of the animals with colored pencils by using little strokes all over (see squirrel tail as an example).
- Add gray or colored shadows behind the letters to make them pop and look more dimensional (I usually use a pencil, but a gray Copic marker works well for this).
