Helllllllllo! I haven't blogged in a while, but I have definitely been a busy bee over here making lots of things to share with you. Today I have a "one stamp, five ways" post and Friday is the SSS blog hop. I'll be sharing three products I designed for the brand new Believe In You release from SSS that just came out tonight! (Wednesday night at 9:00 pm pst!). First off, I have a new set of watercolor cards called Suzy's Succulents you can see here:
I'll be showing all of these painted/colored and made into cards on the first day of the two day blog hop (Friday am). I also have a stamp set and a background stamp that are part of this release. I'll be using the Never Quit Swimming stamp set for my "one stamp, five ways" post today. Here is an image of the stamp set:
I also designed a background cling stamp that coordinates with this set called the Seahorse Background stamp. I'll be using this on one of my cards today. Here is an image:
I do a "one stamp, five ways" guest post on the SSS blog once a month (always on the last day of the month). I also used this stamp set for that post, so I have actually made 10 cards with this set in the past few days! It's nice to know I am capable of creating 10 cards with one stamp - didn't think I could do it and definitely NOT changing my posts to "one stamp, ten ways"!!! Here is an image of the cards that will be shared on the SSS blog on July 31st:
And now it is finally time to share with you my five cards I've made with this new Never Quit Swimming stamp set for today's post! Here we go!
CARD 1:
I made this background using the SSS Waves and Hills stencil and Distress Oxide Inks applied with my new Picket Fence brushes. I applied some white watercolor splotches and water spots after it was done to add spots. I also added a white frame with a Hello Bluebird scene die.
I stamped the dolphins using the Never Quit Swimming stamp set with MFT Natural Ink and colored them in with colored pencils. I stamped the sentiment with black ink on a small white stitched rectangle and colored the letters in with colored pencils. I adde some PPP Jewels in Caribbean Blue, Cornflower Blue, and Sparkling Clear.
CARD 2:
I made the background of this card with alcohol inks. I'm just learning to use them and it is so much fun! I used Sublime and Tranquil Pearl Inks on Yupo Paper. I also used some Jacquard Rich Gold - just learned about this from Jessica Frost Ballas and I love it! Once I made the background, I die-cut a SSS Repeating Circles die from white cardstock. I attached a transparency behind it and then used foam tape to make the shaker window. I used PPP Sparkling Clear Sequins and jewels inside the opening.
I stamped all of the small fish in the set on white cardstock with MFT Natural Ink and colored them in with colored pencils. I attached them inside each window before I put the shaker together. I die-cut the words using the You Are My Sunshine die from SSS out of white cardstock. I then colored the letters with Copics and attached them over the outside of the card. I used some PPP Sparkling Clear Sequins and 4mm droplets and sparkling clear jewels over the front of the card as well.
CARD 3:
I made the background of this card using my new Seahorse Background stamp. I embossed it with Wow Royal Crush embossing powder. This is a purple powder with some royal blue glitter in it and it is one of my all time favorites! I then watercolored around the seahorses.
I used a SSS Sentiment Banner for the sentiment and a greeting from the new Greeting Mix 1 stamp set also embossing with Wow Royal Crush embossing powder. I stamped the three seahorse (which match the background stamp exactly) on white cardstock with MFT Natural Ink. I colored them in with colored pencils and cut around them. I attached three to the top of the greeting banner. I then added some black and white Tonic Nuvo Drops for the eyeballs and some glitter drops over the seahorse stamps in Blue Lagoon, Purple Rain and Sherbet Shimmer. I used some PPP Jewels in Sparkling Clear and Pansy Purple and then some Nuvo Drops in Aqua Plains Jewel drops. I just got this one as I think it is a brand new one and I love it! It is an aqua jewel one so it is transparent.
CARD 4:
I made the background of this card with the brand new Scallop Waves background stamp. I embossed it on Ranger Watercolor Paper with SSS Mermaid Blue embossing powder (a nice dark blue with glitter). I watercolored around the embossing and flicked some color over it for splotches. I die-cut the Whoa! You're Amazing die by SSS from white cardstock. I used a blue cardstock for the letters and attached it to the front of the card.
I stamped the images from the Never Quit Swimming stamp on white cardstock with MFT Natural Ink and colored them in with colored pencils. I cut around the images and attached them over the front of the card. I added some PPP 4mm droplets.
CARD 5:
I started by stamping the jelly fish image three times on the right side of a piece of Ranger Watercolor Paper with SSS Intense black ink. I then painted over them with Daniel Smith watercolors. I outlined some of the ares with colored pencils. I flicked watercolors all over the background as well.
I drew a circle around the design with a plate. I then also drew the same circle on a scrap of paper and cut it out. I attached it over the card front while I stamped the "what the jell" stamp over and over. I then erased the pencil circle. I colored the letters in with colored pencils. I added some PPP Jewels and Nuvo Drops around the jelly fish to finish the card.
I hope you enjoy this new Believe In You release by Simon Says Stamp - It is full of all kinds of products and I'm so excited that I have 3 in this release!
