Today's "one stamp, five ways" post is using the brand new MFT Stacey Yacula stamp set called Sending Sweet Celebration Wishes. As usual, I love her darling illustrations and this is another perfect one for making lots of sweet cards! You can see the entire MFT New Release HERE.
Here is an image of the stamp set:
And here are my five cards!
This set is just so cute that it was hard to not use all the images on each card! But for this one, I wanted to just let that darling penguin with the banner stand alone. So I used him with just the banner. And doesn't he look so cute as the star of the show?
I started by die-cutting a frame using the MFT A2 Rectangle Frame Die-namics from white cardstock. I then applied Distress Oxide Inks to a piece of white cardstock just the size of the frame. I used Peacock Feathers and and Tumbled Glass on the top and Squeezed Lemonade on the bottom. I then used Texture Paste over the SSS Tiny Dots Stencil to give it some dots.
I attached the white frame over this piece and attached that to the center of a white card. I stamped the sentiment on the bottom edge of the card front with black ink. I stamped the banner and penguin with MFT Natural Ink and colored them in with colored pencils. I used a white Uniball marker for the white dots on both banners. I attached them to the top of the frame area. Boom, done!
CARD 2:
I started this card by watercoloring a piece of Ranger Watercolor Paper with blue ink using a wet on wet technique and then flicking some additional splatters on it. I kept the paint inside the edges so it formed an oval to frame the scene. I used the MFT Hit The Slopes die for the ground piece by applying Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn to it. I layered that over the watercolored piece for the background.
I stamped all of the images with MFT Natural Ink on white cardstock as I usually don't want black lines around my images. I have to say though that the SY lines are very fine and I probably wouldn't have minded the black. I should have tried that as I ended up adding lines myself to some of them after I colored them! I colored all of these in with colored pencils. I layered them over the background. I stamped the sentiment with black ink and added some PPP Jewels around the sky area.
CARD 3:
This one is so simple for me! I usually add way too many stamped images to a card, but I stopped myself and only added two to this one. I started by applying texture paste over the SSS Tiny Dots Stencil on a white cardstock card front. I then used another MFT A2 Rectangle Frame Die-namic for the frame die-cut from white cardstock. I made the area for the inside of the shaker by applying Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide Ink to a piece of white cardstock. I stamped the sentiment on the top with black ink. I attached that to the card front and poured sequins over it. I used a SSS mix called the Sunshine Mix (from a previous card kit). I used two layers of foam tape behind the frame and attached that over the yellow piece creating a shaker window.
I stamped the turtle and cake with MFT Natural Ink on white cardstock and colored them in with colored pencils. I attached them to the top of the shaker window. I used some PPP Marigold Jewels over the window.
CARD 4:
This is my "random stamping" card that I usually do. I arranged the stamped images over a white cardstock base using my Misti stamping tool. I stamped them with MFT Natural Ink. I colored them all in with colored pencils. I used a black fine tip marker for the facial features. I added shadows beneath each item with a gray colored pencil.
I stamped the sentiment on an MFT Fishtail Flag Trio Die-namics. I used Wendy Vecchi Cactus Flower embossing powder. I had a little trouble as it colored the entire piece a bit and then it didn't adhere to the sentiment enough. So I saved it with a colored pencil. I added some PPP Watermelon Jewels around the sentiment.
CARD 5:
I made this background ahead of time on this blog post about making backgrounds ahead of time! I used Distress Oxide Inks and stencils - there are directions for it on that blog post. This is my last background that I still have from that post, so I think it is time to make some more backgrounds! I used a Hello Bluebird white frame around the edges of the background.
I stamped all of the images on white cardstock with MFT Natural Ink and colored them in with colored pencils. I then ended up adding black lines with a fine tip black marker after the fact! I stamped the sentiment on another MFT Fishtail Banner with MFT Natural Ink and then I used a colored pencil to outline the letters. It gave the sentiment the same look as all of the colored in items. I added some PPP Jewels over each area of the banner to finish it off.
That's it for today's "one stamp, five ways" post and I actually stuck to my rules today! I hope you enjoyed this new Sending Sweet Celebration Wishes stamp set. I have links to all of th products i used in the product list below. I've linked to both the MFT store and the SSS store for all MFT products.
