I often do additional cards in my "one stamp, five ways" posts, but I've never done less than 5! So today, I had to call this post a "one stamp, four ways" as I just didn't have time to crank out one more card! BUT, hopefully I will make it up to you by impressing you with the four cards I did make haha! Here is an image of one of the newest stamp sets by MFT called Picnic Pals by Stacey Yacula:
And here are my four cards!
My first card is a slimline card with measurements that are 3.5" x 8.5" on the front of the card. You can make one with an 8.5" x 11" piece of cardstock. First cut a 3.5" wide strip off one end. Then cut the rest to be 7" wide (so you are cutting off 1"). Fold that in half and you have a card base as well as a card front which is what I am using here.
The first thing I did is ink the background with Distress Ink. I like how the Distress Inks are brighter and more transparent than Oxide Inks, so I still often turn to them when making backgrounds. You can see some of my slim-line card backgrounds made ahead of time with directions on this blog post. I used two SSS stencils on this one - Waves and Hills and Clouds for Days. I used Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron on the grass and Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean for the sky. I used my new Picket Fence brushes. I've told you before and I'll say it again - they are well worth the price. I waited for a long time to invest in them as they are expensive, but they let the ink go on so much better with these!
I stamped the images with MFT Natural Ink (my favorite ink for no-line stamping which is primarily what I do). I colored them all in with colored pencils. I attached all of them over the background. I embossed the sentiment with Leaf Green embossing powder. I added some PPP jewels around the images.
Card 2:
I often do a random stamped card as part of these posts, but I never tire of how they look. In fact, they are usually my favorite. The stamps just look so cute like this against a white background. I love making them as it is kind of like a puzzle which are my favorite things ever! Do you like puzzles? Does anyone even do puzzles anymore? I use a Misti to place the stamps and I stamped them with MFT Natural Ink. I colored them all in with colored pencils again.
I attached the stamped piece to a card base using Lawn Fawn Guava cardstock. It is my new favorite color as sometimes red is just too stark and it's the perfect mix between pink and red (but not quite coral either - no orange in it). I also cut a banner using the MFT Stitched Fishtail Banner and white embossing powder for the sentiment. I didn't add any jewels or sequins or Nuvo Drops because I forgot. Did you really think I would make a card without the finishing touch on purpose? haha (((I actually like it this way since it's such a busy card already))).
Card 3:
This time I made a shaker card using the MFT Inside and Out Rounded Rectangle Dies. I painted the background with light blue watercolor. I made a ground with the MFT Stitched Snowdrifts Die and rubbed it with Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron Distress Ink. I stamped the sentiment on the inside piece with Forget-Me-Not embossing powder (I had to cut it in two pieces to make it fit). I used several colors of PPP jewels as well as PPP 3mm Sparkling Clear Sequins inside the shaker window.
I stamped the images on white cardstock with MFT Natural Ink and colored them with colored pencils. I used a white Uniball marker for the stripes on the blanket. I attached them over the grass and finished the card with some more of the jewels glued around the shaker window.
Card 4:
I used the MFT Inside and Out Rounded Rectangle Dies for this card as well. I used the largest one for the opening and then rubbed Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean on the Sky. I made the ground with the Stitched Snow Drift dies again. I used Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn Distress Ink on this piece. I attached it over the inside piece and cut around the edges. I attached it inside of the frame over a white card base.
I stamped the images with black ink this time (yep, actually used black ink for once) and colored them in with colored pencils. I attached them over the card background. I stamped the sentiment with Leaf Green embossing powder. I added some PPP jewels around the sentiment.
I just love this little Picnic Pals set and it really makes me excited for summer! One of my favorite things to do is have picnics with my kids at the park, but now that they are teens, it is probably going to be my grand-kids this year! Hope you all enjoyed this post and this darling new Picnic Pals stamp set by Stacey Yacula for MFT Stamps. Have a great week friends! Suzy
