Hello friends! Today's "one stamp, five ways" post is using the Simon Says Stamp June 2019 Card Kit called Leafy Frames. Here is an image of the kit:
As usual, I try to focus on the stamp set which is also called Leafy Frames and can be purchased by itself HERE. Let me just tell you that the papers in this kit are phenomenal! I don't usually like using patterned papers on my cards, but these I could not resist. The only problem was I didn't want to cover any of them up! The papers are by Carta Bella and called Botanical Gardens and can be purchased alone HERE in a 6x6 pad.
I have five cards and some envelopes to share with you today. Everything on these cards (and envelopes was in the kit). Here we go!
I made the background of this card with three of the papers in the kit (they are double sided which means you have to cover some of their beauty up unfortunately!). I die-cut them along the bottom edge using the Simon Says Stamp Drifting Stitches die. I layered three of the papers for the front of this card.
I die-cut a stitched oval from pink cardstock (in the kit) and stamped the sentiment from the stamp set on the center of it with black ink. I stamped the leaves from the stamp set on white cardstock with MFT Natural Ink and then colored them in with colored pencils. I layered them around the outside of the oval (which kind of looks like a circle now!). I added some of the flowers in the kit by cutting off the stem. Last I added some olive green sequins from the xxx sequin set in the kit. There are two sets of sequins which gives you lots of color options to add to the cards (and have plenty left over!).
CARD 2:
I think this is my favorite card. This one is really about the stamp set. I stamped the rectangle floral stamp on white cardstock with MFT Natural Ink and then colored them in with colored pencils. I stamped the sentiment with Wendy Vecchi Leaf Green embossing powder. I just love Kristina Werner's script writing! I cut around the outside edges of the stamped image and then layered it over the background of the card.
To make the background, I layered two of the patterned papers on a white card base. I die-cut the frame using the SSS Stitched Rectangle dies. I attached that to a piece of the pink and white striped paper. I then added some sequins from both sets in the kit around the stamped flower frame. For the envelope, I stamped the line of flowers on white cardstock with MFT Natural Ink and colored it with colored pencils. I cut around it and attached it to the front of one of the envelopes in the kit.
CARD 3:
This card got reworked so many times that I ended up not liking it very much - sorry! I just had to make a card using that gorgeous floral paper and I wanted as much of it to show as possible. I die-cut it with a Lawn Fawn large stitched rectangle. I then cut a piece of the green paper and layered that over the right side of the card. I stamped "proud of you" with black ink on the top of the green paper.
I layered three of the Carta Bella Botanical Garden Ephemera die-cuts in the kit and attached them over the papers. I used one of the flowers in the center of the tag and then added two more by cutting off the stems. I added some of the sequins to the top right of the card.
CARD 4:
This is another one of my favorite papers in the kit, so I wanted to show it off too. It was hard to cover most of it up! I added a green rectangle to the center of it. I then added one of the die-cuts to the center of that.
I stamped some of the flowers and leaves in the kit on white cardstock with MFT Natural Ink and colored them with colored pencils. I cut around the edges and layered them around a SSS Stitched Oval die from cream cardstock (in the kit). I embossed the sentiment on the center of the oval with Wendy Vecchi Pink Peony embossing powder. Again I added some sequins around the flower stamps.
CARD 5:
This card tied for my favorite. It really focuses on the stamps. It is a one layer card with just stamps on the front panel (but then I made it into a shaker ruining my one layer card attempt!). I stamped the stamps (line of flowers on the bottom and circle of flowers on the top center) on white cardstock with MFT Natural Ink and colored them all in with colored pencils. I die-cut a SSS stitched circle die from the center of the card.
I stamped the sentiment with Pink Peony embossing powder on the inside piece of the stitched circle. I attached that to a green card base (in the kit). I built up the outside of the card with foam tape. I used some of the sequins in the kit on the inside of the shaker window. I used some more of the sequins around the circle of flowers. I just want to say that I LOVE the font on the Birthday Joy stamp!
ENVELOPES:
I love this strip of flowers in the stamp set. I stamped it several times with MFT Natural Ink on white cardstock. I colored them in with colored pencils and cut them out. I attached them to the flap on the envelopes. It's fun to have an envelope match the card! And I love that the kit has four envelopes in it!
So that is it - I hope you are inspired to use your kit or even motivated to go buy one! You can purchase the kit in the SSS store HERE. Thank you so much for visiting today and have a great week friends! I will be back for the next two days with two posts for the SSS new release coming - a "one stamp, five ways" post and a blog hop post showing my newest set of watercolor cards all painted. So come back and visit me! All of the products I used are listed below. Suzy xoxo
There were no sequins in my kit, nor are they listed on the accompanying sheet.
