Hi friends! I blogged two days ago, I'm blogging today (Wednesday) and I'll be blogging tomorrow for the SSS Blog Hop. This might be an all time record for me! Today is the Simon Says Stamp new product release called Blossoms and Butterflies. It is full with lots of Spring images of ... wait for it ... blossoms and butterflies! I have a set of watercolor cards in the release called Picked Just For You with a Mother's Day theme. I left greetings off quite a few of them so you can add your own. I'll have all 12 painted on my blog post for the hop on Friday. Here is an image of the cards:
Since I'll be showing all of my watercolor cards painted on the hop, today I wanted to share with you two other cards I made using some of the other new products in the release (my personal favorites!).
CARD 1:
This first card shows off the beautiful FLORAL MOM FRAME die. I die-cut it from Ranger Watercolor Paper and then painted it with watercolors. I resisted the urge to add a bunch of shading with colored pencils, so this is a pure watercolor job! I then attached it onto a transparency by glueing the entire piece so it was completely flat on the transparency.
I die-cut a frame using the MFT A2 Frame Die-namics (the largest one) and I attached that to the outside of the painted piece. That gave me a frame around it so my mistakes along the edge didn't show! I used foam tape underneath the frame edges. I then used PPP blue jewels, blue beads, and sparkling clear sequins on the inside of the shaker window.
I attached some PPP jewels over the centers of several of the flowers to finish it. I'll definitely be sending this one to my mom this year!
CARD 2:
My second card uses the adorable Wake Up and Makeup stamps. I stamped them randomly on watercolor paper using MFT Natural Ink for a no-line stamping look. I then painted them all in with watercolors and used colored pencils over them to shade.
I used my collection of Tonic Nuvo Glitter Drops over many of the items to add some texture and glitter. I die-cut this piece and attached it to a card base.
I stamped the sentiment from the set on a stitched rectangle using MFT Natural Ink and then colored over it with colored pencils. I then attached that to the bottom of the card and added three PPP Sparkling Clear Sequins.
Thanks so much for visiting my blog today and I hope you enjoyed my creations using some of the new products from the Blossoms and Butterflies release. It's a good one and you can check the entire release out using that link or from the link below that shows sequins as the product (it links to the entire release). Hope you enjoy these pretty products as much as I do and don't forget to come back and visit for the blog hop on Friday! Suzy xoxo
