Today is the release of the Simon Says Stamp May Card Kit called Delicate Flowers. I am using it for a "one stamp, five ways" post although I have six cards to share today! Here is an image of the kit:
You can also purchase the 6"x8" stamp set alone which is also called Delicate Flowers. It is so pretty, but we all know flowers are my favorite thing to stamp and color! As usual, I use the kit contents for my card, but I focus on the stamp set for each. Let's get started!
CARD 1:
First off, let me just say that I have very little experience with Alcohol Inks. I was excited to get three of the new pearl inks in the kit as well as some of the paper to use with them so I could try them out. I made a BIG mess and used almost ALL of the blending solution included, but I did end up with a couple of backgrounds I liked. This one was just the pink ink - it's such a pretty color! I die-cut it to show a slight edge of the white cardstock. I die-cut a circle using the SSS circle dies out of the silver paper in the kit.
I stamped the flower with black ink on white cardstock and colored it in with Copic markers. I attached that to the circle. I then stamped the sentiment from the stamp set in the kit with black ink on a SSS Sentiment Label. I colored it in with colored pencils and used some PPP Watermelon Jewels on the edges.
CARD 2:
For this card I used the blue ink - another success I think! Although if you saw the two I didn't use, you would realize the other two were NOT successes! I attached it to a white card base and used a Lawn Fawn stitched frame die around it.
I stamped all of the flower stamps on white cardstock with black ink again and colored them in with Copics. I arranged them over the background. I then used another Sentiment Label for the sentiment and stamped that in black ink. I added some PPP Sparkling Clear Sequins.
CARD 3:
I put the alcohol inks away for the next four cards. I focused on using the beautiful patterned papers in the kit. I die-cut one of the papers and mounted that on the pink cardstock in the kit. I die-cut a piece of white cardstock using the SSS Stitched Slopes and Hills die and used that along the bottom. I die-cut a circle from the green paper in the kit and tucked it under the border die.
I stamped the flowers on white cardstock with MFT Natural Ink and colored them in with colored pencils. I attached them over the circle. I added some PPP Pink Blush jewels around the flowers. I stamped the sentiment on the white cardstock with Wendy Vecchi Leaf Green Embossing Powder.
CARD 4:
This is definitely my favorite card - in fact, it would probably make it into my top 10 favorite cards of all time. I think it's the colors s these are my favorites. I only used the stamps on this one! I started with a piece of Ranger Watercolor Paper and then stamped the flowers randomly on the paper with MFT Natural ink. I then painted them in with Daniel Smith Watercolors.
I die-cut the Thankful die from both white cardstock and the silver paper in the kit. I layered them for the sentiment and then stamped a second one on a Sentiment Labels. I added some Sparkling Clear Sequins.
CARD 5:
I did not like this card at all, so I ended up reworking it a bit. I die-cut the pink paper with a full card size stitched rectangle. I then used a SSS Stitched Oval die on another paper in the kit.
I stamped the flowers on white cardstock with MFT Natural Ink and colored them in with colored pencils. I then die-cut the thank you die from the silver paper and die-cut the outline die from green vellum. I layered the sentiment on the bottom of the card and added "you're amazing" from the kit on a small sentiment label.
CARD 6:
I made a shaker card using some of the pretty papers in the kit. I die-cut a stitched rectangle from the green paper and then a stitched circle from the other paper shown. I created a shaker window and used some of the SSS Butterfly Kisses sequin mix in the window.
I stamped all of the flowers on white cardstock with MFT Natural Ink and colored them in with colored pencils. I layered them along the bottom of the circle. I used the MOM die and die-cut the letters from the silver paper (just love that paper). I added a second sentiment from the kit on another sentiment label. I used some of the same Butterfly Kisses sequins around the flowers.
That's it for today! I've had so many blog posts this week - aren't you so proud of me? I hope you have a great Sunday tomorrow and I really hope you enjoyed my cards today! Thanks as always for visiting! xoxox suzy
