Today is the Hello Bluebird new release and I couldn't be more excited to share it with you - it is so so so cute! I have four cards made with the new products that I posted on Facebook and IG this week, so you may have already seen them. But today I am going to give you directions for each one and tell you the products I used to make them. Let's get started!
PREVIEW DAY 1: Fairy Garden and Garden Friends
These are my favorite two new stamp sets and thus my favorite card of the four I have to share. It might be the colors (these are my favs), but I think it is the stamps. Who can resist all those garden friends and fairies mixed together? I can't wait to use the frogs for my next card. I started by stamping a bunch of images with MFT Natural Ink on white cardstock which is what i always do first. I color, color and color some more. And then I end up with way more images than I need for a card, so I get to save a lot for next time. I take my coloring with me every where. Because i use colored pencils, it is very easy to do it on the go and have my tools in my purse.
I used the outside frame from any of the Scene dies (2 older and 2 new all work). I made a Distress Oxide Ink background by using a SSS Stencil called xxx for the ground and a SSS stencil called XXX for the clouds. I used Worn Lipstick and xxx Oxide inks for the ground and Salty Ocean, Tumbled Glass, and Mermaid Lagoon for the sky. I glued that to a card base and attached the frame over it.
I die-cut the images I had colored and mixed quite a few to create this little scene. I love mixing the two sets as the flowers an greenery, bugs, and mushrooms all work so well together and are sized to mix together. After my scene was created, I stamped the sentiment in the center of the card and embossed it with white embossing powder. I added some Marigold PPP Jewels to the middle of the flowers.
PREVIEW DAY 2: Maverick and Sunrise Scene Die
This cute stamp set called Maverick has one plane and several animal pilots to choose from. I decided to color and die-cut all of them so I could lightly attach them to the inside and my grand-daughter could play with them and change the pilots out. She did and really enjoyed the interactiveness of this card. You can see the four pilots in the close up photos below.
I created this slimline card with a piece of 3.5" x 8.5" cardstock for the front of the card. I used the Sunrise Scene die for the background. I used Distress Oxide Inks again - this time for the clouds, the sky, and the sun. I used Squeezed Lemonade and Mustard Seed for the sun and sun rays. I used Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean for the sky. It looks a little green where it mixed with the yellow inks above the sun. I attached all of the elements to the vertical card background.
I stamped the animals, plane and clouds on white cardstock with MFT Natural Ink (but any light color of ink will work just fine. I colored them in with colored pencils and attached them over the card background. I used some PPP white jewels inside the clouds.
PREVIEW DAY 3: Unicorn Tales, Sparkle Script Die, and After The Rain Scene Die
I LOVE this card, but it hardly got any likes on Instagram - is it ugly? too bright? My HB design team friend said she liked the way I shaded my unicorns with grey. I laughed and said that is like pointing out someone has nice eyeshadow when they just died their hair fuchsia! This card is BRIGHT and I went crazy using my Tonic Glitter Nuvo Drops (which are linked below). I created the background with the new After the rain scene die. I used Distress Oxide Inks for the clouds and sky and the three rainbow pieces. I then covered the rainbow with the Glitter drops (which don't need to be used just for drops or trust me, you will never use your entire bottle!). I let those dry completely before I attached the background pieces to a white card base.
I stamped all of the unicorns and small items on white cardstock with MFT Natural Ink and then colored them in with colored pencils. I don't know why I worked so hard getting all my purple, pink, and turquoise areas shaded perfectly, as I just covered them all up with more Glitter Nuvo Drops again! I attached them around the background.
I die-cut the Sparkle Script die twice from white cardstock. I rubbed Picked Raspberry Distress Ink over it and then covered it with Glitter Drops again. I let that dry and attached it to the other white one so it was more dimensional. I stamped the sentiment in black ink using the xxx stamp set. I attached Sparkle above the stamped sentiment. Is this sparkly enough for you? haha
PREVIEW DAY 4: Fly a Kite
I used the Skating Pond Scene Die for the bckagournd. I colored it with Copics and shaded with colored pencils.
I stamped all of the images on white cardstock with MFT Natural Ink. I colored them all in with colored pencils. I added eyes to the critters with black and white Tonic Nuvo Drops.
I attached the critters to the background to create a little scene. I used some white jewels around the sentiment. The sentiment banner is from the Hello Bluebird Stitched Tag Builder dies.
Thanks for visiting today! I hope you are enjoying this new release which goes on sale at 7:00 pm MST on Tuesday April 16th at the Hello Bluebird store HERE. You can also purchase the products at SSS which should be in their store soon (and I will link them at that time). Have a great day friends! Suzy
