Today is day 2 of a two day Pretty Pink Posh blog hop. You can see yesterdays blog hop by going to the Pretty Pink Posh Blog if you missed it. You can see/purchase the entire release with 10% off HERE. I have 3 cards to share with you today using the new release. I also have 3 more cards that I blogged the day the product was released, so you get to see those again too! Let's get started!
CARD 1:
I made the background for this card with watercolor - directions are on THIS BLOG POST about making backgrounds ahead of time (3rd installment). I stamped the wreath from the Spring Wreath stamp set on white cardstock with MFT Natural Ink. I colored it in with colored pencils. I attached a circle of white cardstock to the top center of the card and placed the wreath over it.
I stamped the sentiment from the PPP Thoughtful Greetings stamp set using Wendy Vecchi Garden Patina embossing powder. I added some Tonic Nuvo Drops over some of the small circles on the wreath and additional dots between them. I also added some sequins, jewels, and droplets around the wreath.
I stamped the butterfly from the Beautiful Butterflies stamp set using MFT Natural Ink. I colored it in with colored pencils. I folded the wings up and glued just the body to the top of the wreath so the wings would look dimensional. I added some Tonic Nuvo Drops to the body and the antennas.
CARD 2:
I used the PPP Magnolia Flowers stamp set on this card. I started by making a background by die-cutting the PPP Scallop Ovals die out of a piece of card size white cardstock. I then took the outside piece and attached the SSS Tiny Dots stencil over it. I rubbed Texture Paste over the stencil to give me the look of little dimensional dots. I attached that piece over a white card base and attached the oval frame inside it.
I stamped all of the flowers and leaves on white cardstock with MFT Natural Ink. I colored them i with light tan/brown/yellow and warm gray colored pencils. I colored the leaves with green colored pencils. I attached them around the oval. I added some white Nuvo Drops to the leaves.
I stamped the sentiment from the PPP Simple Sayings: Life Stamp Set using SSS Antique Gold embossing powder. I added some Rose Gold Jewels around the sentiment and some Ivory Tonic Nuvo Drops to the flowers.
CARD 3:
I made the background for this card ahead of time - directions are on THIS BLOG POST about making backgrounds ahead of time (3rd installment!). I used the same SSS Tiny Dots Stencil and Distress Inks in Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron. I then die-cut the new PPP Spring Frame Die out of white cardstock. I colored in the flowers and leaves with colored pencils. I have to say, it would have been easier to color this in with Copics as it is hard to get the edges covered with pencils, but it worked! I attached the frame over the background.
I used the new PPP Thinking of You die for the sentiment. I die-cut it 3 times. I glued all 3 together and then colored the top one in with colored pencils. At first, I tried coloring it with Copics, but they had a much brighter look of color than the pencils. I couldn't get them to match! It was really hard to get the pencils to cover these tiny letters, so excuse them looking a bit messy! Lesson learned - use Copics next time for the entire thing! I attached the sentiment to the center of the card.
I stamped the PPP Beautiful Butterfly stamp with MFT Natural Ink and colored it in with colored pencils. I used one color to color the entire thing just using it softer and harder to have different degrees of color. I love that about pencils - you only need one color to shade something. I used a white Uniball gel pen to add the dots on the butterfly. I used Silver Moondust Glitter Nuvo Drops over the body of the butterfly. I folded the wings up again and attached just the body to the card. I added some Marigold and Valentine Mix jewels around the flowers and as the dots on the I's in the sentiment.
The next three cards are on my blog post HERE with directions and supplies as well as close up shots.
