Today I get to showoff the brand new stamp set by Stacey Yacula (my favorite illustrator) for MFT called Easter Bunnies. With all these Easter cards I've been making, I'm really in the mood for some jelly beans! I wasn't able to complete a full five cards for a "one stamp, five ways" post this month like I usually do as I'm off to SSS Create event tomorrow (((hope to see some of you there!))).
Here is an image of the cute little stamp set:
And here are my 3 cards with directions for each and supplies I used listed at the end with links to both the MFT store and the SSS store.
For the backgrounds on all three of these cards, I used three SSS Stencils called Waves and Hills (hills), Grassy Edges (grass hills), and Clouds for Days (skies). I used Distress Oxide and Distress Inks on all of them with the stencils. For this one, I added in some grass dies and colored them green with colored pencils, but I can't for the life of me figure out where I got these dies! I made a frame with the PPP Notes and Things dies and Distress Ink.
I stamped all of the little bunnies and eggs on white cardstock with MFT Natural Ink and colored them all in with colored pencils. I added Tonic Nuvo Drops in colorful glitter colors listed in the supply list. I played all of the items over the grass. I stamped the sentiment from the set with SSS Jellybean ink on a Word Window Frame die by MFT. I added some PPP white jewels to finish the card.
CARD 2:
I used an MFT Scallop Oval Frame die for this card. I used Spun Sugar and Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide Ink on the outside. I made another grass and clouds background for the inside of the oval. I wanted some texture on the pink area, so I added drops of Glossy White Nuvo Drops.
I stamped the sentiment on an MFT Stitched Cloud die using Wendy Vecchi embossing powder in Forget-Me-Knot. I added white jewels around the cloud.
I stamped the images from the Easter Bunnies set with MFT Natural Ink on white cardstock and colored them in with colored pencils. I placed them inside the oval to create a little scene.
CARD 3:
This is my third background using the stencils and Distress Ink mentioned in the first card directions. This time I made my clouds pink coping my friend Nicky from Hello Bluebird. I created a Yellow frame using the SSS Stitched Rectangle dies and used Lemonade Distress Ink over it.
I stamped all of the images on white cardstock with MfT Natural Ink and colored them in with colored pencils.
I added glitter Nuvo Drops over the eggs and around the stamped areas to finish the card. I stamped the sentiment on the top of the card using Wendy Vecchi Pink Peony embossing powder.
So what do you think - should we have a jelly bean eating party? I like the spicy jelly beans and they are so hard to find these days, but I might just go on an egg hunt later so I have something sweet for the plane tomorrow! Hope you enjoyed this little foray into the upcoming holiday even though today is officially St. Patrick's Day - haha! Happy all Spring holidays to you all and thanks so much for visiting today! Suzy
