I have a couple Hello Bluebird cards to share with you today. I've already shared them on IG, so you may have seen them. I am using some piggies and some elephants for today's cards - because anything HB I cannot resist! These stamp sets have both been out for a while and are called Elephant Friends and Pig Day. Here are my two cards:
For the background of this card, I used the Hello Bluebird Hill and Dale die for the ground slopes. I then used Distress Oxide inks for the sky and for the ground pieces. I made the card a "slimline card" with the measurements for the front of the card being 8.5" x 3.5".
I stamped all of the images in the Pig Day stamp set with MFT Natural Ink and colored them with colored pencils. I then outlined them with a fine tip black marker as they didn't look right without borders for some reason (just all lightly colored images look better with a black outline around them). So stamping in black ink would have made more sense.
I arranged all of the images on the background and then stamped the greeting on a banner from the Stitched Tag Builder die with Leaf Embossing Powder.
Card 2:
For this card, I used the HB Spooky Scene die for the background. I colored all of the pieces with Copic Markers. I left the frame of the die white so it would frame the little scene. I love when I can use a die for something it wasn't meant for (like this one was meant for a spooky HW type card and I can use it for a sweet Easter card background or even for elephants!).
I stamped all of the images from the Elephant Friends stamp set with MFT Natural Ink again and colored them in with colored pencils. the little birds are all from McGregor's Garden stamp set. I then outlined these again too - I guess elephants in all grey need outlines too. And again, why do I not stamp in black ink? I think I prefer the look of doodled lines - I even try to make them messy by drawing two lines around each if that makes sense. I used some glossy white drops on the green, some pink glitter Nuvo Drops on the butterflies and flower and some Blue Lagoon Glitter Drops on the background. I used the "thanks" die from the HB Gallery Frame #2 die.I die-cut it three times and then glued them together.
Thanks for visiting today and I hope your day is filled with elephants and piggies. Speaking of which, I think it is time for me to take my grand babies to the zoo! Happy Thursday friends! Suzy
The pig card certainly speaks spring. Love the colors and shading.
