Today is the first day of the two day blog hop for the Simon Says Stamp You Are Loved release. Most of the products were released in December, but it was such a busy month that the blog hop was moved to this month. There was ONE product that wasn't released yet and this one is kind of special to me! Here is an image of my latest watercolor cards called Sending Love:
This set of cards is perfect for all of your Valentine's Day card needs! They are all printed on Ranger Watercolor Paper which is pure white and perfect for all coloring mediums, but thick enough for watercolors. Your job is just to pretty them up and attach them to a card front for the easiest type of card to make ever! I've colored all 12 to share with you below. I've used a combination of watercolors and colored pencils on each of mine. I'll list some tips and ideas I've used under a few of them.
Sending Love Watercolor Card 1:
Sending Love Watercolor Card 2:
Tips: Use a green colored pencil over watercolors to add blades for the grass making it look more realistic; Use a white spot and then a black spot of Tonic Nuvo Drops for the birds eyes (let the white dry first before adding the black); Use glitter Nuvo drops over the letters and hearts to add shine and glitter - I used Sherbet Shimmer on mine
Sending Love Watercolor Card 3:
Tips: Cut the design out of the watercolor print so you can use it over another card base and add a die-cut for the salutation; Paint a striped background to adhere the design to (I painted this one on my blog post about making watercolor backgrounds ahead of time on THIS BLOG POST); I used the Thanks Scallop Border Die on the top of mine; color the letters in the die with Copics before attaching them so they stand out; use a white Uniball marker to add little lines over your coloring to add interest; use Glossy Accents covered by glitter over the scallops to dress it up
Sending Love Watercolor Card 4:
Tips: Use a dark navy watercolor for the background; use a white Uniball over all of the letters and then re-outline with a black fine tip marker; add Silver Glitter Nuvo Drops over the white (the white works as a base to make the glitter drops stand out more); use white paint drops flicked over the background; if you prefer, use googly eyes over the owl eyes (they fit perfectly)
Sending Love Watercolor Card 5:
Tips: Cut the rose out of the watercolor card and mount it on a card base; watercolor stripes for a background (I made mine on THIS BLOG POST if you want directions); use a die-cut such as this Bold Mom Die for the greeting; use Copics to color the letters going from lightest down to darkest
Sending Love Watercolor Card 6:
Tips: Add water and drops of green paint behind the tree to look like more leaves; use Strawberry Coulis Jewel Tonic Nuvo Drops over all of the hearts giving them a clear finish; use some Bottle Green Nuvo drops around the branches for more green; use a gray colored pencil to add shadows behind the letters
Sending Love Watercolor Card 7:
Tips: Add a watercolored wash behind the images and then flick some additional specks over the background; add gray shadows behind the letters and re-outline them with thicker lines to make them stand out; add Nuvo Drops in black and Aquatic Mist Glitter; use Black Nuvo Drops over the birds' eyes
Sending Love Watercolor Card 8:
Tips: Cover up the greeting on the card with a PPP Stitched Label Die; stamp it with a greeting from the Love Messages stamp set; add Glossy Accents and white glitter to areas of the pitcher; use a white uniball marker over the white stripes on the vase and around the cookies and the drops on the cookies; use a soft gray wash over the background
Sending Love Watercolor Card 9:
Tips: Cut the design out since the greeting is part of it and then you can attach it to a different background; my background was made on this blog post and uses texture paste and the SSS Line Circles stencil
Sending Love Watercolor Card 10:
Tips: Use white and black nuvo drops for the eyes (apply the white first and let dry before applying the black) OR use googly eyes; use Sherbet Shimmer glitter drops over the letters
Sending Love Watercolor Card 11:
Sending Love Watercolor Card 12:
Tips: Use a Hello Die for an additional greeting colored with Copics to match your design; use a wash of reds and pinks behind your design since the cup and saucer are white so they stand out more; use a gray pencil around the edges of the white areas to make them pop more; leave the tips of the flowers white so they have more dimension - also use a white Uniball to add lines to them

As always, you have done a phenomenal job of creating brilliantly colored and delightful cards!! You never disappoint; each collection you make is always as good or better than the previous one.
BTW, your "I love you to the moon and back" card reminds me of the book by Karen Kingsbury (which was an excellent read) with the similar name of "To the Moon and Back." If you enjoy Christian books of love and faith, you will like it.
