Hello friends! Today I have a "one stamp, five ways" post using the SSS brand new January 2019 Card Kit called "Snow Much". It is darling and will definitely make you feel like you want to stick your toes in some snow (I say this as I stuck my toes in the sand at the beach today and it was HOT, so yep, I'm craving some snow so I can feel like it is winter). Here is an image of the kit:
As usual, you can buy the stamp set alone which is called Snow Much also and is 6x8". You can also buy that cute little die alone which is called the Twirling Ice Skater. As stated, I have five cards to share with you using the kit, but especially focusing on the stamp set.
Card 1:
This card actually focuses on the Twirling Ice Skater Die. I love that it is just a die and doesn't have a stamp to go with it. I'm sure some of the girls used it as is and did some cool stuff with it, but being the girl that loves to draw, I doodled ice skaters inside it. I die-cut three and then tried to make each girl a little different. It was really easy to do as I just drew within the lines. I then colored my girls with colored pencils. I used the Glossy Accents in the kit with some Tonic White Glitter over it. I love Glossy Accents - I had forgotten how awesome it was since I use Nuvo Drops so much. The great thing about Glossy Accents is it doesn't crack like Nuvo Drops do when you cover larger areas. It works perfectly to drop glitter on.
For the background, I used a patterned paper in the kit. I die-cut the snow bank using the SSS Drifting Stitches Border Die. I used glossy accents on the area between the stitches and also used glitter over that. I attached the three dancing skaters and then used glossy accents and glitter over some areas of the snow flakes on the patterned paper as well. I stamped the sentiment from the stamp set with Lawn Fawn Blue Jay ink. I had to cut the salutation apart to use it like this.
Card 2:
I started by making a background with Texture Paste rubbed over the SSS Falling Snow stencil using a palette knife. After it dried, I cut snowbank borders using the SSS Drifting Stitches Border Die. I attached the two borders over the background for a white on white effect. I stamped the sentiment on the bottom of the card using SSS Intense Black Ink.
Next. I stamped the snowmen images and the little igloo on white cardstock with intense black ink and colored them in with colored pencils. I cut them out and attached them all over the background. I also attached two hearts and some of the snowflakes in the stamp set. I colored over them using a silver glitter pen after stamping them with MFT Natural Ink.
Card 3:
The most special thing in this kit is the new Ranger Custom Blend Distress Oxide Ink Pad. You combine different Oxide Ink Refills on the ad to create your own custom color - woohoo! Have you ever wanted a color that is in between two of your favorite colors? I have! For this card, I combined Mermaid Lagoon and Twisted Citron. I applied the ink with a blender tool over the background. I used some white paint flicked over the background and some water spots for the look of snow. I created snow banks with the SSS Drifting Stitches Border Die again. I layered two of those over the background.
I stamped the images with black ink and colored with colored pencils again. I used Glossy Accents and the white gel pen in the kit over certain areas of the images like the carrot nose! I stamped the sentiment on the top of the background with embossing ink and used white embossing powder. I also stamped some snowflakes and snowballs on the background. I added some glossy accent dots along the snow and on the background.
Card 4:
This card uses the patterned papers in the kit. I especially liked this khaki linen paper. I used the SSS Twisted Stitch Border Die on the bottom of the paper so I could have the little stripes stick out at the bottom. I used two of the SSS Stitched Square dies to create a frame out of white cardstock. I placed that frame over a piece of the patterned paper that had a little speech bubble on it so I could use that as the greeting on the card.
I stamped the images with black ink and colored them in with colored pencils. I attached them over the frame so the larger penguin looked like the speech bubble was coming from him. I used Glossy Accents over their eyes and noses and feet. I used the white gel pen on their cheeks. I stamped one of the hearts and some of the snowflakes to add to the background as well. The snowflakes are colored with a silver glitter pen.
Card 5:
I finished my five cards with a shaker card. I really wanted to use those little snowballs in the kit, so I thought it would be fun to put them in a shaker window. I started by making a frame with the SSS Stitched Square dies again. This time I used Glossy Accents covered with glitter over the frame inside the stitching. I cut a piece of the patterned paper for the background and then die-cut a square out of the center top of it. I then cut the red square piece out of another patterned paper for the greeting inside the shaker window. I built the background up with four layers of foam tape so it was thick enough to allow the little white balls to move around. I added those as well as some sequins and jewels on the inside of the shaker window.
I die-cut another one of the snow banks for the bottom of the card and I used a thin layer of glossy accents over it and poured white glitter over that. I stamped the snowflakes with MFT Natural Ink and then colored over them with a silver glitter pen and then I added glossy accents and white glitter over them as well. I stamped the snowman with black ink and colored him ink with colored pencils and used the white gel pen to add some details. I attached all of the stamped images over the card and it was done!
I hope you enjoyed my "one stamp, five ways" post today since they don't come as often as they used to! I have to really think out of the box and spend a lot of time to come up with five ways to use a stamp set, so I hope you enjoy these. If you didn't know, I do a guest post on the SSS Blog every month with this same "one stamp, five ways" concept so you can see more of these type of posts on their blog. Have a great weekend friends and as always thank you so much for visiting! I hope to inspire each of you in one way or another! Happy crafting! Suzy
Thank you for your ideas for the skater die that was included in the Simon Says Stamp January card kit. I don't draw, so I wasn't sure what to do with the skater die other then trying to find an idea on Pinterest. Your cards are super cute!

Thank you for sharing these 5 cards. Each card is darling and makes me wish we still lived in Wisconsin! Love that beautiful snow! This is such a cute stamp set. My fave card is your snowball shaker.

I just ordered the kit today. I love all the cards you created from it. Great idea doodling on the skater die cut. I might try that...even though I'm not a "drawer". If it doesn't look good, it's only a bit of card.
