Yep, I'm on a Christmas card roll. This needs to turn into a Christmas decorations roll as I haven't even started and it's the 7th! I usually have my tree up on the first weekend of December. So tomorrow it is. But for today, I'm going to share more of my cards that I have been posting on IG in case anyone wants the directions and supplies. I have one using MFT stamps and 3 using Hello Bluebird stamps today.
MFT - Cool Christmas:
My first card uses the MFT Cool Christmas stamp set. I fell in love with this one and had to have it! I used one of my favorite dies for winter cards called Horizontal Snow Drifts. I thought it looked like streets running through the hills in the snow. I die-cut it from white cardstock and attached it to a white cardstock base.
I stamped and die-cut a whole bunch of the two trees in the stamp set. I stamped them with MFT Natural Ink and then colored them with colored pencils for a no-line look. Next, I added Glossy White Nuvo Drops and while they were wet, I sprinkled white glitter on them. I attached the trees to the top hills on the card.
Next, I stamped the car and snowmen on white cardstock with MFT Natural Ink. I colored it in with colored pencils. I used a silver glitter pen for the inside of the tires. I attached that to the lower part of the card. I stamped the sentiment on a Honeybee banner die with Black Intense Ink. I then added some Glossy White Tonic Nuvo Drops around the trees.
Hello Bluebird - Frosty Friends
Here is an image of the cute stamp set with all of my colored images on top of it. I think it really shows off how cute they all are!
I wanted to make at least one card with all of my Hello Bluebird Christmas stamp sets before I get my new shipment of their newest release stamps (I can't wait!). This stamp set is called Frosty Friends - it is so cute! I started by making the background with Distress Oxide Inks in Tumbled Glass and Spun Sugar. I used some distress spray in Picket Fence to add white splotches on the background. I also sprinkled some water on it so it would bleach spots. I die-cut some stitched hills with one of my stitched snowdrift dies in the supply list (I have about 4 sets, so not sure which ones I used on this one).
I attached the hills over the background. I then stamped all of the cute images on white cardstock with MFT Natural Ink and colored them in with colored pencils. I attached them around the background using foam tape behind some of them so they would look like they were in front of the others. I stamped the little speech bubbles with SSS colored inks (listed in the supply list).
I stamped the snow flake stamps with MFT Natural Ink and then colored over them with a silver glitter pen. I added those and some white Glossy Nuvo Drops over the background.
Hello Bluebird - Snow Play
Here is an image of the Snow Play stamp set with the stamps I have colored on top of it. I wanted you to see how cute the sentiments are - I love the different fonts they use!
I love this Snow Play stamp set so much - I think it is one of my favorites because it is just so darling! I started by making the background with Distress Oxide Inks in Blueprint Sketch. Next, I die-cut those darling hills from Hello Bluebird (they are not carried by SSS so I don't have a link to them). I added some White Blizzard Nuvo Glitter Drops to the tops of the hills to look like snow. I attached those over the background. I made a frame from white cardstock using the largest SSS Stitched Rectangle die.
I stamped all of the images on white cardstock with MFT Natural Ink and colored them in with colored pencils. I may have used some Copic Markers on the deer as I like them to be smoother. Sometimes I don't like the look of colored pencils by themselves as they leave pencil marks, but if you use them over Copics you get rid of that, but still get the nice shading. I attached all of the cute images over the background.
I stamped the sentiment with white embossing powder on the center of the background. I added some White Blizzard Nuvo Glitter Drops all around the images to look like snow.
Hello Bluebird - Rooftop Reindeers
This card uses the darling vintage looking Rooftop Reindeers stamp set by Hello Bluebird. I made the background using the PPP Stiched Notes Rectangle for a frame. I used the MFT Snow Flurry Stencil with Tonic Glimmer paste rubbed over it. It looks like snow! I also die-cut a stitched hill and used White Blizzard Tonic Nuvo Drops over that (I just spread it so it was a thin layer). I attached all of these pieces to a white card base.
I stamped the reindeer on white cardstock with Intense Black Ink and colored them in with Copic markers. I then added some shading with colored pencils. I used a silver glitter pen on their collars and some Red Nuvo Drops for their noses.
I stamped some of the snowflakes in the set with MFT Natural Ink and then outlined them with a silver glitter pen. I added some White Blizzard Nuvo Drops in the center of each. I attached them over the background. I stamped the sentiment on a Honeybee Banner with black ink and attached that to the top of the card. I finished it with a few more drops of White Blizzard Nuvo Drops.
All this should certainly get me in the mood to decorate tomorrow. The problem with that thinking is, decorating a 4.25" x 5.5" piece of cardstock is just so much easier than a whole house - right?!?!?! It takes me forever to decorate the house, so I will be so happy when it is over. Are you guys real or fake on the tree? We are thinking about moving to fake this year. The price of real every year is just so much and I always worry our tree is going to catch on fire. So we may go shopping for a fake tree tomorrow and I said I would never do it!
Have a great holiday season friends! I hope this post got you a little more in the mood if you were struggling like I am. The products I used in this post are all linked below to SSS and MFT for that card. Thanks so much for visiting as usual! xoxoxox Suzy
