Today I have four FALL cards to share with you. I had recently purchased some Fall stamp sets and I hadn't used any of them as I moved right into Christmas cards. They are always my favorite cards to make! But I don't like it when I buy a stamp set and don't use it, so I decided to make a card with each of my new Fall sets before I was allowed to go back to Christmas ones. I mean Fall deserves it's chance to shine, don't you think??? I have a card using Pretty Pink Posh, two cards using Hello Bluebird, and one card using MFT. Let's get started!
Hello Bluebird Fall Friends:
I can't say enough about how cute HB stamps are - the designer makes them for me I think. They are 100% my style even down to the script. I loved working with this darling set called Woodland Littles because the images are just so cute and little haha. I stamped all of the images on white cardstock with MFT Natural Ink (my ink of choice for no-line coloring) and then colored them in with colored pencils.
The hills are a die from HB called Glaciers Peeks Die (I'm linking it here to the HB shop as SSS doesn't carry it or is out of stock). They come with snow for snow caps, so I feel like they are more for winter cards. I tried using them here for hills that are full of golden leaves. The background for this card was made on this blog post about making backgrounds ahead of time. It is texture paste and a tiny dots stencil colored with some abandoned coral ink. Love that stuff for backgrounds!
I attached the hills to the background and then I stamped the sentiment on the bottom with white embossing powder. I attached all of the leaves and critters above the sentiment and added in some fall colored sequins. I tied hemp around the top and placed the little bow in the center.
Pretty Pink Posh Giving Thanks:
This stamp set by Pretty Pink Posh is so darn cute - it is called Giving Thanks and is perfect for Thanksgiving cards. I used a SSS die for the shaker window called Birch Circle. I used a watercolored background behind it with yellows and oranges (also shown on this blog post about backgrounds). I placed PPP sequins and jewels inside the shaker window.
I stamped all of the images with MFT natural ink and colored them in with colored pencils. My favorite coloring method is to start with Copics and then add colored pencils over for shading and texture and to outline my images with them. But I'm on a colored pencil kick, so that is all I used for these cards today. You can see the pencil strokes which I don't always like though.
I arranged the cute little beavers ??? along the bottom with the pumpkins and leaves arranged around them. I stamped the sentiment form the set with Lawn Fawn walnut ink and then added some sequins and jewels around the outside of the shaker window and on the trees.
Hello Bluebird Fall Friends:
This background was made ahead of time and is shown with directions in my Card Bacgkrounds 2 blog post if you want to see how I made it. I wish I had made more orange and sunset color skies, but I focused just on night skies and snowy skies, so this was the only one I had made that worked well for a fall card. I love the colors in this one! I die-cut the trees from the HB Birch Trees Die and colored them brown with Copic markers.
I cut a white frame using the PPP Stitched Notes die and placed that over the trees over the background. I stamped the critters and leaves from the Hello Bluebird Fall Friends stamp set with MFT Natural Ink and colored them all in with just colored pencils. I attached them to the top of the card.
I stamped the sentiment on the top of the card between the trees with white embossing powder. I then added some PPP sequins and jewels to finish it.
MFT Woodland Friends:
The background of this card is made with just Copic markers - this is not a usual technique or coloring method for me. It uses way too much ink!!! But I did have a fun time layering and blending and playing with my Copics again! Watercolor is just easier and cheaper - ha! I did start the grass with green cardstock so I just had to shade it with Copics. The trees and sky all started with white cardstock. The grass and trees came from the MFT Spring Scene Builder dies (used for fall even though technically trees wouldn't have leaves in the fall as they are all on the ground - duh -ooops).
I arranged the trees on the background and used some Tonic Nuvo Glitter drops on them. I stamped the sentiment on a banner with green embossing powder and added that to the top left side. I stamped all of the cute little critters from the Woodland Friends stamp set on white cardstock with MFT Natural Ink and colored them in with colored pencils.
I arranged the critters on the grass and added some sequins. All done with that one!
I hope you enjoyed this little foray into Fall (just made that up - hope it makes sense!). Now I'm on to making Christmas cards again haha. We just don't have a Fall here in CA, so maybe that is why I don't get into this season. But I do love my woodland creatures, so it is worth a quick visit. have a great weekend friends! Thanks for visiting, Suzy
