Today the new Simon Says Stamp Card Kit was released - it is called Thanks and Leaves. Here is an image:
As usual, I like to focus on the stamp set in the card kits which can be purchased alone if you prefer - Thanks and Leaves Stamp Set. But unfortunately I didn't get time to do a "one stamp, five ways" post this time. I do have three cards to share with you - they are all 3x4" as there are 3x4" Kraft envelopes in the kit. I have mentioned I'm in LOVE with colored pencils lately, so I went with that look (((again))). Hopefully this love affair will die down so I can get back to my regularly scheduled programming soon haha. Here are the 3 cards together:
And here are some images of each one. I'll give you some tips and the products I used at the end of these photos.
I kept these very simple and they definitely DO focus on the stamp set. I have so many other ideas to use it for too though as it has so many wonderful salutations in it and the leaves are awesome! I used Kraft Cardstock and I stamped all of the sentiments in the center of each card with embossing ink and then embossed with Leaf Green embossing powder, Sunflower embossing powder, and Ranger White embossing powder.
I stamped all of the leaves on the cards with MFT Natural Ink (any light brown or tan ink would work). I wanted the images to be dark enough to see, but light enough to cover. I love that colored pencils are opaque on this natural xxx paper. I colored them all in with my colored pencils. I use both the Faber Castelle and Prismacolored pencils. I still want to do a post on why I like each and what I use each for. To put it in a quick summary, Prismacolor are very waxy and mix well and build up over each other. Faber Castelle are oil based and work more like regular pencils where they are not waxy and don't build up and mix the same way - you can see the strokes better. I often color with a Faber Castelle as they are my favorites and then I color over those with a lighter color of the Prismacolors to mix the color together so it is smooth. But you certainly don't need both - I just wouldn't know which to recommend as I love them both so much - and with two sets, I get way more colors - whoooopeeeee!
I was going to add some of the gold sequins in the kit or some Nuvo Drops, but I wanted to keep these very simple and flat. So that's it folks - that's all I've got for tonight! I did go see the movie A Star Is Born though and I'm still shaken by it for multiple reasons. Overall, well worth seeing. Just haven't processed my after mood yet ha! Have a great weekend friends!
