Today I pulled out a couple of my older Pretty Pink Posh winter sets and made two cards. I received these in the mail some time ago and hadn't had a chance to use them. I love them even if they are old. I especially love mixing older sets with newer ones - but this time it's just the older ones. Here are images of the two sets called Winter Wonderland and Holiday Pals:
CARD 1:
To make the background for this card, I embossed the snowflakes in the Winter Wonderland stamp set over and over on a card size piece of Ranger Watercolor Paper with white embossing powder. I then rubbed Distress Oxide Inks over it using Broken China, Tumbled Glass, and Salty Ocean.
I die-cut a snowbank using the Stacked Edges 1 die (I used the negative space, not the die cut area itself). I stamped the sentiment on it with SSS Mermaid Blue embossing powder. I attached that piece to the background.
I stamped the stamp images on white cardstock with MFT Natural Ink. I colored them all in with colored pencils. I added some accessories from the other stamp set Holiday Pals. After they were all colored, I outlined them with a fine tip black marker for a doodled look. I attached them all to the background.
CARD 2:
I created this background to look like snow. I rubbed Distress Inks on white cardstock using Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean. I flicked water on it with a paint brush and wiped them off for bleached spots. Then I used a snow background stamp with white embossing powder to create the white spots.
I created another snow bank using the same Stacked Edges 1 dies, but this time I used the actual die-cut piece as well as the negative space. I stamped the sentiment on the bottom of this piece, but I didn't like the way it looked so I restamped it on a small banner die and placed that over the original one.
I stamped all of the little images from Holiday Pals on white cardstock with MFT natural ink. I colored them all in with colored pencils and outlined with a black fine tip marker. I placed them on the snow bank with some of the trees tucked behind it.
Thanks for visiting. I wish we had snow here, but nope it's still in the 80's. Maybe just fall would be nice! I think I'll go look for seaglass at the beach right now instead of complaining about my hot weather. Have a great weekend friends! Suzy
