Today I'm part of the second day of the Pretty Pink Posh and Glue Dots Blog Hop collaboration. I made two cards using the new Glue Dots products that were sent to me for the hop. I LOVE THEM. It's always so fun when you discover new adhesives, right? I was the most in love with the little itty bitty glue dots that fit so perfectly under the PPP jewels - even the smallest one! No more glue dried everywhere on my card! I decided to work with two of my favorite floral sets by PPP because flowers are always my favorite to color!
Card 1:
Both of my cards used the PPP Stitched Notes die for the backgrounds. I had the inside of this white piece, so I put it to use in card #2! For the inside of this card, I watercolored a piece of Ranger Watercolor Paper with a 1" flat brush and Daniel Smith Coral Watercolor. I made this background ahead of time and just die-cut it to fit on this card (see post "making backgrounds ahead of time"). I used the Glue Dots Permanent Glue Tape to adhere both of these pieces to my card base. It fit perfectly along the edges of the frame!
I stamped the flowers and hummingbird with MFT Natural Ink on white cardstock and colored them in with colored pencils. I used the Anemone Stamp and Die set. I attached the flowers with the Glue Dots Pop-Up Dots. I used one under the bud on the bloom and one under the leaf and then adhered the bases down to the card so they have dimension. I loved that these glue dots are not as thick as most of my foam tape, but give you just a bit of dimension. And they are squishy so you can move them around or make them more flat (((or use them as therapy to rub in your fingers))). I stamped the sentiment from the PPP Thoughtful Greetings stamp set with Intense Black Ink. I finished the card with some Pink Blush Jewels adhered with the Glue Dots Micro Dots.
Card 2:
Like I already said, I used the inside white piece from the frame on the last card using the Stitched Pieces die for this card. First, I made the card base with white cardstock rubbed with Ranger Blending Tools and Distress Oxide Inks in Wilted Violet and Mermaid Lagoon. They are VERY bright colors, but I went with it as I wanted my Morning Glory's to be bright too. I attached the white piece to the card front using the Glue Dots Premium Permanent Gluetape.
I used the Pretty Petunia stamp and die set for the flowers, but I turned them into Morning Glory's. I stamped them with MFT Natural Ink on white cardstock and then colored them first with Copic Markers and then added shading and details with colored pencils. I did the same with the little hummingbird from the Hummingbird Thanks stamp and die set. I adhered them to the card using the Glue Dots Pop-Up Dots again - just under the areas that stand up. For example, I adhered the hummingbird to the card base, but then used a pop-up dot under his head so the beak would look like he was going into the flower.
I stamped the sentiment from the PPP Encouraging Greetings stamp set using SSS Embossing Ink and Wow Royal Crush Glitter Embossing Powder. I added jewels in three colors: Watermelon, Amethyst, and Purple Pansy. I adhered them with the Glue Dots Micro Dots which fit on them perfectly!

Beautiful cards, your coloring is always amazing! I am going to have to try the micro dots, I always end up with glue everywhere when adhering small embellishments.

Gorgeous cards again, Suzy! I'm always amazed at how easily you seem to pull together both watercolor (background) and your magical colored pencil designs. To me they seem to seem like such differing mediums, and yet your art keeps encouraging me to think outside my "everyday lanes" when I create. That humming bird you colored is just so beautiful. All the vibrant colors and yet still subtle shading. So fun to zoom in to enjoy the tiny details you use to make it come to life!
Thanks for participating in the hop today!

Amazing coloring on these gorgeous cards! The hummingbird is one of my favorite stamps from PPP. I'm interested in getting some of the micro dots for applying embellishments. It's such a disappointment to have liquid glue seep out from the edges of sequins and jewels.

WOW Suzy, these are such beautiful cards. I love colouring beautiful flowers too and these certainly are gorgeous. I am with you on using the mini glue dots for sequins and gems, there really is nothing better. I find when I use glue for these types of things I make a mess somewhere on my card. LOL So I have been a fan of glue dots for a long time!
