You all know (if you have visited before) I love to make what I call random stamping cards with stamp sets with small images. My recently acquired Mama Elephant stamps are perfect for this technique, so I made two cards to share with you today.
I love puzzles, so making random stamped cards is really fun to me if I use my Misti. I just line up all of the stamps together like a puzzle and then stamp them at one time. This way it only takes about three or so times to get them all stamped. My first card uses the new Little Agenda Trains stamp and die set.
I stamped all of the images with black intense ink on white cardstock. I used the little words in the stamp set as well. I turned everything topsy turvy going every direction.
I colored all of the images in with colored pencils. I use a mix of both prismacolors and polychromos as I love them both. As I've mentioned, I'm quite addicted to my colored pencils lately. I definitely prefer them for really small images as the points make it easier to stay in the lines. Also sometimes Copic markers bleed a little if you get too close to the lines so they are harder to use on little images. I used my silver glitter gel pen for the wheels and other silver areas.
I stamped the sentiment from the Santa's Sleigh stamp set - I thought it went good with the train theme. I used white embossing powder on a banner from the Honeybee Sentiment Banners die set (one of the best purchases I have made recently!). I used a Glossy White Tonic Nuvo Drop on the banner and then some Sparkling Clear Sequins around the sentiment to finish the card.
This stamp set is my favorite of all of my Mama Elephant sets - I just LOVE it. It is called Cool Penguins and has a die set to go with it. But the great thing about random stamping is you don't need the dies! I stamped all of the images on a piece of white cardstock with black intense ink. This time, I kept all of the stamps facing upright, just tilted a bit, but not topsy turvy! I like to shake it up!
Again, I colored all of the images in with colored pencils. I love to shade with pencils. I often use a white pencil to add lighter areas after all the color is down. I am in love with the colors on this card - pinks and blues are my favorite and throw in some bright green and this is just delicious, right? I love non-traditional Christmas colors. I added some details with glitter pens and a white Uniball marker.
I added gray shadows behind all of the images to make them pop against the white background. I stamped the sentiment from the stamp set on two Honeybee banners with white embossing powder. I thought this was a good way to add two lines on a greeting with two separate banners. I finished the card with some sparkling clear sequins and some White Blizzard Glitter Nuvo Drops.
I still have a bunch more images colored from my ME stamp sets, so I'll be back with more cards soon. I also just ordered a bunch of Hello Bluebird stamps so I'll be throwing in some blog posts with those as well. I just can't resist cute holiday sets! Have a great weekend friends! Suzy
