I'm finally back with my Simon Says Stamp It's Your Birthday watercolor cards all painted and made into cards to show you. They were part of the latest STAMPtember product release a week or so ago. I had two new sets of watercolor cards in this release including the Flower Sentiment set I showed all painted on this blog post HERE. Here is an image of the It's Your Birthday Set:
Whenever I draw a set of watercolor cards, I try to include some drawings for all tastes. I know I have a whimsical/playful/cutesy style that may not fit some people's taste, but I do try to include lots of options. Drawing these sets each month does not come easily to me. Painting them does and it is my favorite part. I love to color! Coming up with ideas each month is so difficult though, so if you ever have any set ideas for me, please let me know! I just finished my fifth Christmas set and it was the hardest yet. I couldn't think of any Christmas ideas I hadn't already drawn! But I got really creative and came up with a sub-theme which you will see soon. Anyway, back to this set - I think my favorites are the two animals as I am an animal freak, but tell me which your favorites are!

Directions/Tips to Color Watercolor Cards:
The watercolor cards are all printed on Ranger Watercolor Paper on the smooth side which is totally white (I love that about this paper). All my watercolor cards start the same way. I paint them with Daniel Smith watercolors first. Then I add colored pencils for shading and details. And last I add Tonic Nuvo Drops to add dimension and shimmer to different areas. I love that the Nuvo Drops work so well for decorating these. Below is a list of all the products I used to color them. I paint the backgrounds usually with a wet on wet technique - I wet the entire back and then drop colors in next to the designs so the color runs outward.
