Today is the second day of the PPP New Product Release Blog Hop - you can see all of the new PPP products being released HERE. I have four cards to share with you using a couple of the stamp sets and some of the new dies. I always love little people by PPP, so I jumped all over the new School Friends stamp set. I also love Koala's (which are NOT bears - excuse my last post that mis-stated that!) so I finished off with one more card using the Koala Friends set. There are two other cards using that set on THIS POST from a few days ago.
Ok, lets get started. I have a few tips for making each card below the photos of that card!
Tips:
- Watercolor just the edges of the outside of the Storybook 1 die by first applying water to the entire piece and then adding paint just to the edges so it moves outward (I Ranger white watercolor paper as I like the white shade)
- Stamp the School Friends images with MFT Natural Ink so when you color them, there are no outlines; I watercolored these images and then added details with Prismacolored pencils, glitter pens, and a white Uniball marker
- Add details to the clothing with all of the above mentioned coloring methods
- Add sequins around the images to fill in the open spaces
- Use red embossing powder for the sentiment
Card 2:
Tips:
- Use the Stitched Pieces die to create a shaker card; use foam tape behind it and fill the openings with the new seed bead colors as well as a few of the older ones
- Create the background for the shaker card using Ranger blending tools and Distress Oxide Inks
- Emboss the sentiment with white embossing powder in the center opening
- Stamp the images with a light color of ink and color with Copics and colored pencils
- Add some sequins on the outside of the windows as well to fill up open spots
Card 3:
Tips:
- This card uses the Window Frames die which I usually use for shaker cards, but I resisted and kept this one flat!
- Watercolor a background for the opening and then stamp the sentiment with white embossing powder
- Color the die Congrats (free with a $60 purchase0 with Copic Markers to match the card (I used cool grays)
- When you add glasses to the little people, die cut them first and then stamp the glasses; or you can just draw your own on the die cut with colored pencils as I did
Card 4:
Tips:
- To create "furry" Koalas Friends, stamp them with MFT Natural Ink, then color them in with Copic Markers (I used Warm Grays), then use Prismacolored pencils to add little lines all over them in all directions to look like fur; make sure to have the lines overlap all of the edges
- Use markers to color in the letters of the LOVE YOU script after they are die-cut out of white cardstock
- Paint the background by die-cutting the window frames die out of watercolor paper; wet the entire outside piece and then add pink paint to the edges letting it blend outward
- Add some ivory jewels and seed beads around the images to finish the card
There are four $25 gift certificates being given away by PPP. They will randomly pick winners from the comments left on all blog posts for the two day hop. Comments need to be left by 11:59 PM PDT on 6/19/2018. Winners will be announced on the PPP blog.
