Hello friends - can you just believe the holidays are around the corner? I'm not ready! This year is going to be the best Christmas ever for me though as I have a grand baby boy coming in late December! Working with the Simon Says Stamp December Card Kit definitely got me in the mood for the holidays! Here is an image:
Today I have a "one stamp, five ways" post to share with you using this darling kit and stamp set (which is sold alone if you prefer! I also just realized there is a matching die set for this darling stamp set!!! I actually made more than five things with it and I have most of the papers in the kit left that I could make a lot more! I have five cards and four tags to share with you!
Card 1:
One of my favorite things in this kit is the three colors of glitter paper. I used it for the ground in this card. I used a Mama Elephant Framed die for the frame. I used it with one of the patterned papers in the kit that are all two sided. I used one side for the outside of the frame and the other side for the inside of the frame (so the red and green were die cut as one piece). Then I die cut the silver paper with the Simon Says Stamp Wavy Scallop Stitches Die and a Lawn Fawn stitched rectangle die. Those three pieces created my background.
Next I stamped all of the adorable stamped images with a light color ink on white cardstock and then colored them in with Copic Markers. I decided I wanted them to have outlines, so I added them with a fine tip black marker. I used a white Uniball marker on the gingerbread boy and a gold Uniball on the dog's tag. I used Nuvo Gold Glitter Drops on the star on the tree and my Glitter Pens on the ornaments. I fussy cut the images out and then placed them all on the silver paper. I used two of the candy cane stickers from the kit on the gingerbread boy. I stamped the sentiment on a SSS Banner die (no longer sold) which I also die-cut out of the blue glitter paper to use as a shadow for it. Last I added some white Nuvo drops and some red twine on the top to finish it.
Card 2:
Here is my random stamping version of this stamp set. I stamped the images on watercolor paper using a light colored ink and then painted them in with watercolors. I used my Glitter Pens to outline them and add details and shading.
I die-cut a banner (same unavailable die - sorry!) using black cardstock and the silver cardstock in the kit and layered them for the sentiment. I stamped it with Versamark Ink and embossed it with white embossing powder. I added Nuvo drops in red and black all over the front of the card around the stamped images.
Card 3:
I used two of the papers in the kit for the background. I die-cut them both using a large stitched rectangle and then cut along the edges of the word Merry Christmas to create a ground with one of the papers. I wanted to really show off those glitter papers in the kit, so I used the new Falala die-cut by SSS and die-cut one in pink and one in blue. I layered them as the sentiment on the top of the card.
I stamped the tree with black ink on white cardstock. I colored it in with Copic markers. I used the sequins in the kit over each of the ornaments and then used white Nuvo drops in the center of each. I used some additional sequins over the background. Last I glued some green/white twine over the edge of the Merry Christmas paper and tied it in a bow.
Card 4:
This card makes me want gingerbread cookies (especially because I am on a stupid diet - going on week 3!). I die-cut the patterned paper with a large stitched rectangle. I cut a strip of the red/white striped paper and cut the edge of that with a stitched rectangle as well. I then stamped that darling gingerbread boy over and over on white cardstock with Versamark Ink and embossed with white embossing powder. I colored him in with Copic markers. I went over some of the white areas with a white Uniball and used pink Nuvo drops for the cheeks and white Nuvo drops for the buttons. I die-cut that piece with a large stitched rectangle and then the top edge with the SSS Scalloped Stitches dies. I cut another piece of the gingerbread patterned paper with the same border die. I layered all of these pieces to create the background for the card.
This picture goes better with the directions above! So you might have to refer to the last picture for the next part of these instructions! I die-cut a half circle with the PPP Window Frames die from white cardstock. I stamped the sentiment (which I cut into four pieces) with Lawn Fawn Doe ink. I added some of the puffy stickers from the kit around the sentiment area. I finished with some Nuvo drops in pink glitter and gold glitter. I tied some red/white twine around the front of the card.
Card 5:
And now for my shaker card! I loved this brick paper from the kit, so I wanted to use it as my background to look like a fireplace. I die-cut it with a large stitched rectangle and then the PPP Storybook 6 die from the center. I used foam tape behind the window (two layers). I made the card base with the tan cardstock in the kit. I then stamped the sentiment in the bottom window (tracing it first with a pencil so I knew where to stamp). I used the sequins in the kit in the window opening as well as some PPP snowflake sequins. I also used the glitter circles that were leftover from my tags below in the window.
I stamped the images with a light color of ink and colored them in with Copic markers. I doodled borders around each with a black fine tip marker. I attached them to the front of the card and added some more snowflake sequins over the top window.

These four tags are made with the SSS Stitched Dressed Up Tag dies. I die cut each of the tags out of white cardstock and then die-cut the top of the tags from the glitter papers in the kit. The tags were so easy as I used stamped images colored with Copics and the puffy stickers on the front of each and finished them with white Nuvo drops, a sentiment stamped in black ink, and twine or ribbon. Here are images of each individually.
Thank you so much for visiting me today! I hope you love this kit as much as I do! Below are all the products I used with links to the Simon Says Store. Have a great Thanksgiving holiday friends! Suzy
